Did You Go Shooting Today

I took the CZ RAMI to the range for my bday today. Last year the extractor broke on the Sig p238, but this year nothing broke and I shot pretty well!

I shot 150 rounds in about an hour and a half, going pretty slowly. I'm really loving the CZ more each time I shoot it.

HBD2U. ;)

I got my PHA membership last Friday so I ran down and sighted in the carry handle scope on the Dissipator at 100 yards before it got dark, took less than a mag, then i was just having fun, this is actually the 2nd target, the 1st one was worse obviously because of sight in. But I think its spot on now.

Just got home from the range. Had a not great shooting day, but saw some friends. I didn't shoot a lot of rounds, maybe 50 of .45 and 50 of 9mm.

It's always nice to go shooting, but a few more accurate shots would have been a nice thing......lol.

Did I? Yes.

AR-45 Pistol (w/ Octane 45K)
AR-410 Firearm

Wanted to get them sighted in. Was there by myself and was curious how the .45 sounded to an observer, so I walked to the next tactical bay and asked the two guys if one would shoot it while I stood back. Neither had ever shot suppressed. Positive experience for all. They also walked back over to my bay and tried out the 410.

Great day! I broke out the first gun I’d ever shot when I was 7 in the early 70’s (Remington UMC mdl.12 .22) along with a similar model to the first gun I roamed the woods with (Remington Nylon 66) and got my 7 y/o grandson behind them. After ~60 rounds learning sights and how to hold the gun, he was lighting up 2” targets at 30’. Said it was his best day ever, I got another one hooked :D

Nice!
Kinda young to be a grandpa, aren't you? lol.

I had to share this, I don't think her dad would mind. She couldn't see the gong over the tall grass at 100 yds. I think she is 13 and is shooting at AR10. Yes she is the one that got the truck stuck in the mud.

Wanted to check the red dot on the 300 BO pistol and a friend wanted to sight in 2 of his hunting rifles so we headed to the range.
He was shooting a 6.5 CM and a 30-06 that he said he swapped out scopes and just bored sighted them. For me, bore sighting is close to useless.
We started both rifles out at 25 yards. then 50 and then to 100 yards. Got the 6.5 shooting <MOA and the 30-06 about 2 MOA.
Next up was the 300 BO and when I went to turn the red dot on it was dead.
My friend said that he never shot over 100 yards so we headed to the 500 yard range. Took the 4 wheeler down range and painted the targets that I wanted him to shoot starting at 200 and every 100 out to 500. BTW, he never shot using a bi-pod and rear bag.
Got him setup and told him what to dial for 200, dead center, then what to dial for 300 and 400, 2 shots on each steel. Now for the 500 with a little wind. Told him what to dial plus 1/4 MOA. Just low at 5:00. Made an adjustment of 1 MOA and hold about 3" left of bullseye, 2 hits center of a 24" steel. Man did he have a shit eating grin on his face. His words was "THIS HAS TO GO ON MY FACE BOOK PAGE".
I enjoyed it more than if I was shooting.

Why, yes I did!

I had worked up some 223 loads with a new-to-me powder, WC844, so I went up to Frontline today to test them out. I was pleased with the results, shooting from my cheap 16” carbine. I started out at the 100 yd range, with paper target at 50 yards.

When I was done with that, I moved to the pistol range to test some loads in my FNX45, and that went very well. I finished up by shooting some 10mm in my Witness. I not only manage to capture all my 10mm brass I managed to find a few extra someone left behind.

Then I decided to move up to the 500 yard line and shoot some steel. Just using holdover, I was hitting the steel out to 350 yards with my carbine. The barrel was pretty hot when I got done.

Awesome day at the range.

Got to take my youngest son out today.

-Functioned tested the SA Ronin’s new Nighthawk flat trigger I fit. Check.
-Function tested the new Magpul rear Buis that I had bore sighted on an AR build I bought from my oldest son. Check, and required no further adjustments.
-Function tested a whole bunch of ammo.

It all worked.

Tried to but all the open pits were occupied at Woody’s (a third of the pits were closed). Since they had only been open 20 minutes when we got there, my youngest and I decided to just head home

I went to DPRC today also, only saw 3 other people there. Kept my distance and unloaded a few recently loaded 223 rounds.
Think I’ll go back tomorrow, lol.

I was there Tuesday afternoon and was apparently the only person on the premises.
