Huge burger Out West Style and an order of onion rings. Good comfort food on a cold winter day.

I wish they didn't overcook the burgers so much, but Cook Out's price, convenience (always seems to be one close enough when I'm out running errands, and like being able to drive through) and taste allows me to overlook this flaw.

Your favorite Cook Out meal?

Also, I only do the ones that have indoor seating.
That way I can just go in, relax, enjoy my meal.
Im not a big fan of getting fast food to go, try to avoid as much as possible.

Big double burger tray
Cheese, bacon, bbq sauce on burger
Chicken wrapx2
Tea

CookOut Tray
Grilled Chicken samich - Original Style
Quesadilla
Corndog
Tea

Get Honey Mustard and Ketchup to mix and dip for the CordDog

BBQ tray, no slaw
Bacon wrap
Hushpuppies

Sometimes I go with
Beef quesadilla Jr tray
Bacon wrap
Cajun chicken wrap

Either one with a Dr Pepper or Mr Pibb, whichever they have.

I’ve often said that a tray with a burger, sides of nuggets and a corn dog, and a huge sweet tea is one of the most American examples of overindulgence you can get for s little over $5...a main dish with two more main dishes as sides. (But I’ve never actually had their nuggets or corn dog)

I haven't been to Cook Out in many years. I did enjoy the burgers back in the day.

Rumor has it that there will be one in the shopping center around the corner this year. If true, that will be my grab lunch quick place when I work weekends.

BBQ plate
Cole slaw
Hushpuppies
Fries with EXTRA CAJUN SPICE!!! that they can never do when I ask them. Wife got me a plate the other day, she told them extra spice, she gets home, there is zero spice on the fries. Same thing Bojangles does....at least you can buy a bottle of theirs though.

Yep. My daughter says the HS kids are all going to mob that place for lunches during the week.

You must be about a stones throw from me. I can walk to the Publix.

Cheddar style cheeseburger tray
Onion rings with cookout sauce
Chicken nuggets, sometimes corndog
Huge sweet tea

Never tried them in Raleigh, the NCSU crowd has the line back into Western Blvd.
I did have chicken tenders in Charlotte, hot and fresh at 2AM.

Thanks for the ideas. I've always just gotten burgers, but might have to branch out.

What's the bacon wrap side?
Flour tortilla. Piece of bacon (usually very hot/fresh), piece of lettuce, shredded cheese, a little ranch.

I got the strawberry cheesecake milkshake with the meal earlier today. Meh. Would not get again. Will try one of the chocolate flavors next time.

Big Double with cheese
Corn Dog
Onion rings, nuggets, or quesadilla depending on my mood
Lg Tea

Sometimes a caramel cheesecake milkshake because it may be the best shake out there fast food wise...

Et tu, Brute? I would have thought Cook Out is not worthy of your palate.

See a number of people mentioning the corn dog, which I sorta dismissed. But if you like it, I may have to try it.

Bang for the buck it's actually one of the best fast food joints... Corn dogs... Meat on a stick fried in corn batter? What's not to like?

Got the BBQ tray w/ bacon wrap and onion rings. I was underwhelmed by the BBQ sandwich. I prefer their burgers. Onion rings were good as always.
Two reasons I like the BBQ:

1. I’ve yet to get a bad (fatty) bite.
2. I don’t get charged extra for cheese like I do when I get a burger.

:D

Chicken fingers or a burger with bacon wrap and a chicken quesadilla, and a double chocolate shake.

But I am inspired to branch out also. They just built one at the 40 exit for DPRC so I expect I'll be going there more in the future...

Next time you are in Lexington (fairly close to PHA), drop in Speedys, Smileys, or Lexington BBQ. Get a side of dip and add a teaspoon or 2 per samich. Cookout BBQ wont be the same anymore. We typically get the take out special. At home....add the desired samich amount of BBQ in a bowl and add some dip. Nuke it and stir it up to evenly distribute to the dip to BBQ ratio. Its about right when the bun gets a little soggy and you have to finish it with a fork.

I know it’s not the best. But kinda like the BBQ at Char-Grill, it’s consistent quality and not fatty.

I’ve had plenty of real Eastern NC BBQ. All my family is in Raleigh except for my parents. I went to NCSU. But I’ll also try one/all of those places on trips to PHA. :D

Burgers: push your finger into the meatball and fill the cavity with Worcestershire sauce; pinch it off and roll out carefully into a patty; Lowry's seasoning salt; butter and garlic rub the bun, then toast). The trick is to allow the heat to steam the Worcestershire sauce into the meat.

grilled corn on the cob

Sweet tea

Better enjoy Speedys and Smileys while you can...
I'll be real bummed when those two are forced out

Big Double, CookOut style, with cheese, no onions
Chicken Quesadilla
Hush puppies
Some variety of chocolate shake.

I hate drive thrus, I endure them for CookOut.

Those cookout rounds are pretty tasty. Outwest, cookout, and cheddar are some of my favorites. The watermelon shake is good when they have it available

Big double with bacon, cheese and all the toppings.
Chicken ranch wrap x2
Huge sweet tea.
That hits the spot every time.

@drypowder whats out west style? Is that like bbq sauce and onion rings or something? I need to get up with any secret menu tips!
