Ty, better ammo has helped for sure along with advice from you all. The small range I am a member at does not have a 50 yard range (starts at 75) so it is hard to do these targets or practice unless I go way out of my way (Uwharrie). This will hopefully be changing in the next few weeks as I am attempting to join a different range.
 
Got to tired last week after shooting skeet. So hopefully next Friday will be no rain and I will make a trip(this Friday suppose to rain). Looks like people are improving!
 
So this is my first entry to the challenge shot today. Using 457 VPT with Lilja barrel. RWS R50 ammo. Someone please check my scoring. I scored it like a ARA target. If I broke out of a ring at all I dropped to the next lower score. Is that correct? Enjoyed trying.



 
Thanks for joining us and great shooting. If you break the line you go up not down here. So with that said I score you at a 68 and are tied with Two others for top spot. We may have to have a tie breaker shootoff but there is still time for a perfect score.
If anyone goes out again and gets a 68 or a perfect score might as well go ahead and shoot a tie breaker also. I believe that is one shot each at the fingers.
 
Thanks Amp. I'll shoot again for the tie breaker. To be sure we're on the same page I shoot one more target and if I get 68 again , I shoot one round for each finger. Thanks for the help. Mike

you already got a 68 and this would be for tiebreaker. If you end up shooting higher then a 68 that’s even better but someone else might also do the same so…

Shoot one shot each at the 4 alien finger tips on your perfect target at 50 yards. (4 shots) 1 point each for shots fully within the finger tip. No points if you break out or hit the outline. Draw a straight line at the bottom of the finger tip, since it is not completely enclosed.
 
I hope to get out to the range this week. I will bring my 68 targets and shoot the fingers, unless I can get a 70. Warmer weather is coming.
 
Well I was able to get to the range today as my Grandparent duties ended a little early due to early class dismissal. The range was empty due to the rain forecast and breeze, but I shot anyway as this was the only window I had.
I tried unsuccessfully to get a 70. Got two more 68 so I attempted the tie breaker.
How does that saying go, " The best laid plan of Mice and Men often go astray". Mine certainly did. I missed all 4 fingertips.

I was disappointed with those results. The weather in Statesville is suppose to get wetter and windier through the weekend here. The range were I have been shooting is closing down soon but they are moving to a new location. The Grand opening is the Saturday the 25. They are not allowing any shooting on the 25 or 26th. That is why I tried shooting today.
 
You all over there driving by me in a Lamborghini complaining your windshield is dirty meanwhile my Pintos smokin and my tires are bald! 😂
Good shooting as usual @#1gohunt.
Am hoping to get out this Sunday.
 
I don't know of any limit. Submit your best target from each rifle. Would love to see a semi-auto shoot a perfect score or a vintage 22.
 
Boyz, I can't do much better. This is my tie breaker shot. I'm planning to shoot another target and see if I can get the 70.

Well, it was a little breezy today, but I forced it to get this one behind me. Pretty sure I added up to 64. Volquartsen custom, Meopta 3-15 (set at 10), rest and a squeeze bag shooting Eley semi-auto ammo.

I was able to get out early today, before the wind picked up. I shot the fingers on my target with the 68 score and managed to get 2. Then shot a fresh target, barely getting the 70, then shot 2 fingers. The CZ 457 MTR with SK Long Range.

Excellent shooting on both targets. The 70 and two fingers should put you in the lead on your own target. I hope the next one is just as challenging.
 
Looks like @Eric F has just posted our first perfect score +2 fingers. Still time to get out and see what you can do Shooters. He may win again but per rules we will have someone else picking our target for April/May.
I will be heading out this weekend with a few fresh targets. Just don’t see a 70 in the cards for me.
 
Thanks. I had no distractions at the 50 yd range. That helps a lot. I hope someone will beat my score by the end of the month. There is still time and good weather ahead.
 
Well I couldn’t leave good enough alone. Bought a Jard trigger and installed. Went Sunday and Monday to try and see if I could better my score. First off, the Jard trigger is awesome and has about a 9oz trigger. The bad news is I must not have gotten the torque back to what it was before and it was all over the place. I went back and tried to mess with the torque but nothing seemed to be helping. I never got a decent score so no pics. Was afraid you all would see my tears.
will try again but I’m starting to think I may just blow it all up and get me a new rifle. Maybe a CZ in my future..

Two days left and Feb/March challenge will be over…..
 
Doesn't look like I will be able to make another attempt. I have a new scope in route so I need to get it dialed in.

Welcome aboard and looking forward to seeing what you can do when not on a shaky kids table. What kind of rifle and what ammo did you run through her?
 
I also tried to best my 68 with 0 fingertips. But my Winchester 52 and I just weren't compatible today. I never even finished a target out of the 4 that I tried. This attempt was with Lapua Center X.

Well barring a late hour entry it looks like @Eric F is our winner for our Feb/March challenge. Congratulations and we are all chasing your top shot skills.
In the past if we had the same winner we would go to second place and let them pick the target for the next two months.
If this is how we want to keep it then @Got2hav1 will be picking our target for April/May after beating out @#1gohunt by literally an alien finger tip.
please give a shoutout on here or by PM if you disagree with this.
I will create a new thread in the morning and hopefully @Got2hav1 will have us a target to try out. I doubt tomorrow’s weather will be helpful for rimfire‘s.

Looking forward to the April/May challenge. Breaking out my RPR build and 10/22 build to see what I can do with the all American hardware.

I’m gonna try an see (hopefully Sunday) if I can fix what I did to my Ruger American when I put in the new Jard trigger. Was getting decent groups and now they all over the place. It’s gotta be the torque but we will see. I’m close to giving up and turning to a CZ of some kind.
