Heritage 22 revolvers

Mine goes bang every time except when it doesn't. It shoots where you point it if you hold it just so. It has two cylinders but I don't think I can handle the 22 MAGNUM so I don't use that one. And the cowboy belt shrank 3 sizes since I got it :(

Of all my muscles, my brain is one.

I’m interested as well. I love .22 revolvers and have two Ruger single six models. Issue I always get with the Heritage is “is it worth it to just drop another $100 and get a Ruger?

Glad to see these are good buys.

I have one I paid $99 for ar dunham's at Christmas. It shoots ok, not great. Wish I had the adjustable sight model but it's 2x the price. Definitely no single six but for care free carrying, hard to beat.

I picked up a brand new Heritage in 17 HMR some years back on the Canadian Crack smokin' turf and simply love it.......I mean I really love it. I also have a neighbor that has three of them. One in .22 mag and two in .22 LR. I get to shoot them quite often and enjoy them.

I don't remember any issues with either of them yet but I have only shot really good ammo through them.

Do they sell extra cylinders
Yes. $29.99 shipped from Heritage.

I have two. A 9 shot and 6 shot. Reliable-wise they're fine and all that. They're simple and good for shooting up all the thunderbolt crap.
I have large but not giant hands and the grip is too small. These guns widely take into consideration kids and ladies so the grip is small. Heritage used to make what they termed 'oversize' grips..basically for adult man hands. But for some unknown reason they stopped and no other maker that I've found (and I've searched) makes larger grips for these guns.

The whammy for people with small hands though is the hammer spur is too high and they can't reach it with their thumb one-handed.
This has always been a complaint with me and these things. They make a SA for people with small hands and then design the hammer so it can't be used by people with small hands.

They're priced reasonably and you get your money's worth I guess. I personally rate them as somewhat acceptable.

eta- Grandpa has one that he keeps in a holster. One day he pulled it outta the holster and the ejector rod was gone. Yeah who knows. Heritage sent him a new rod and he put it in and it still runs.

I have one....I really like it....I have considered getting a few more models just to have and play around with

man, you guys are all lucky. mine came with a burr on the ratchet, heratige just ignored me.
it cleaned up pretty quick with a file and i haven't had problems shooting it since... but for $100 you know somebody somewhere isn't doing the best QC

Thanks y'all , have to get me one, and a nine shot cylinder too.
I’m thinking that I read somewhere that you can’t run the nine shot cylinder in an original 6 shot pistol.
I hope I’m wrong. If it can be done, I’ll be by ordering a 9 holer too!
Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

Not possible. From their website
Can I use a 9 shot cylinder in my 6 shot Rough Rider?
No - the 9 shot cylinder is specifically made for the 9 shot Rough Rider - it will fit, but it will not work - the cylinder, cylinder hand and hammer are different.

Anyone that own a standard Heritage ever take the grips off & think about cutting it down & making it a birds head? Is this even possible. I'm sure cutting the barrel down would be simple.
OMG I've been hanging around the Battery Oaks School of Gunsmithing!

seems like a whole lot of work for a cheap gun...
you'd have to reprofile the backstrap, maybe rework the spring

or buy something like this https://www.shopheritagemfg.com/heritage-small-bore-bird-head-backstrap-assembly-302-0002-01

if you can talk millie into finding me, i have the regular size one in 22lr. she could drive it down to billy's for you to play with for a while

I want a barkeep and if I can find one will replace the grip frame with a birdshead
