Heritage 22 revolvers

Durham Sports has the six shoot ones for I think 130. Have a lot of sales where you can get one for 100.

Have to take a trip.

Thanks

During one of the election buy-fests, some old dude at a gun show table was selling pocket pistols of a certain legacy for over $200
I asked about that price, when 125 would have been a little much, because i had concerns about them lasting terribly long. Old fudd was all "THAT LITTLE PISTOL WILL LAST LONGER THAN YOU WILL, SONNY"
And i responded with something along the lines of "you really think a jimenez, bryco, jennings, is going to outlive me?"
he promptly turned around and ignored me after that.

saw a website selling barkeeps for 150 today.
once you factor in shipping and transfer, you might be back up to 200.
cheap guns are meant to be impulse buys at a local store.

Get the heritage with no fear. I use one for a trapline gun. If it goes underwater or in the mud, no problem.

Ahem. Suppose one of you lads <cough-@BatteryOaksBilly-cough> was to shorten the barrel on a revolver... what do you do for a front sight? I'm not talking about a high-priced revolver; don't want to spend more than the gun cost...
I have a coupla zamples I could show you. If you are serious 'bout a Belly Gun....front sight is just added weight πŸ˜‚ 🀣;)

Found 2 barkeeps, grabbed them quick. They do not come with WMR Cylinders, which sucks... great shooters for sure! Both shoots little to the left. Definitely came with the wrong frame/grips, ordered the bird head to replace

I'm interested in the regular grips if you decide you want to sell

I'd cut a dovetail & silversolder a part of a silver dime on it

I was thinking about doing the dime thing, trying to figure out how to mill a slot for it without a mill. Dremel cutoff wheel comes to mind. Hoping I will come to my senses before I hose it up πŸ˜‚

I bought one back in December from Academy and Murphy came with it. When I tried the action in the store it worked fine, then after getting it home and removing and replacing the cylinder it was locked up. Seems when the cylinder pin is inserted all the way like it should be it would lock up but functioned fine if it was backed out of the recess in the rear of the frame, and that's how they had it in the store.

But that's not the worst part. I had them send it back to the mfr and it came back with the "hammer polished" and did exactly the same thing. Had them send it back again and it came back fixed but all worn and scratched up like they slapped it in a vise metal to metal.

By that time I was done with them. Luckily it was the bottom of the barrel model with plastic grips and I only paid $100 +tax, so I figure a functioning gun at that price is not so bad, but it left me with a bad taste for their customer service for sure.

And just to prove I don't hold grudges (or that I can justify anything to myself), I fell in love with this thing at (you guessed it) Academy about a month later and brought it home with me. Here it is getting sighted in. Has pretty nice adjustable sights.

BTW the Joker theme comes from this scene in the first batman movie:

I think I'm going to hang it on the wall in the man cave with one of these stuck in it. :D

A local pawn shop has a new Barkeep with American Flag grips. It's a nice looking little revolver.
