I have a lot of 45 ACP left over from my 1911 days, and I'm trying to decide between trying to sell it off or just shoot it up.

The 'shoot it up' idea would necessitate a new pistol because the two I have (my 1911 and G21.2) aren't really my thing anymore (G21 never was but that's another story).

The huge double stack 45s have no appeal, way too big for me and no fun so not worth spending time on.

What's a single stack-is small/medium framed semi auto in 45 that isn't a 1911 variant? Optics would be nice, but not a deal breaker.

Shield 45, sig P250? Ideas? Needs to be current enough that mags are available new, no trying to source from ebay.

The kahr is fairly thin, but i mainly thought of it due to it being affordable and you can offload it after your ammo is done.

Iā€™ve got a Shield 2.0 45 if you want to handle it. Was even thinking of selling it. I like it actually, but I pretty much got out of 45. Sold nearly all the ammo.

Shield .45 seems like the move. I've been eyeing them myself for some time now, the 4" barrel models in particular.

Never tried a G30 or 36, how do they shoot generally?

G30 is a great shooter, but itā€™s not a single stack.

Totally forgot about them, probably because my dad stole borrowed both of mine and I've not seen them in years.
I always wanted a Kahr. Were yours 45s? They look so much nicer than Glocks. And I believe come with either metal or polymer frames?

PM9 and P380, so both plastic framed. Had a MK9 back in CA when carrying it didn't matter so the extra weight vs. the PM9 was actually helpful.

the Glock is quite thin. The biggest thing that annoys me is that they don't offer flush fitting mags for it.

yea, and those extension mags are the only thing that gives it a full size (for me) grip, and I HATE extensions that do that. always pinching my fingers in that gap, and I would run without it if it was an option.

If it's got your juju on it, it won't run? or is that just 1911s in 9mm that you do that to? :)

It runs great. I ran it in a BUG match after I bought it. Soft shooter considering itā€™s not a boat anchor.

I want to like the 36 but the grip makes no sense. They gave it a two finger grip but offer no flush mags. Granted, a flush mag would only be 5 rounds, but they donā€™t offer it. So then why not just make the gun with a three finger grip if the only mag you offer has an extension and forces a three finger grip anyway.?

Iā€™ve been stuck on this thought for something like 2 years now. I just canā€™t make sense of it.

Another vote for the Kahr's. I have a Shield 45 and PM45 and like the Kahr considerably better. The trigger is long, but smooth.

Older Sig 220 45acp German made..
or The Kahr..

Kinda partial to the Para Warthog or BBR 3.10 45acp... I know you said no double stack..
Sorry

the shield 45 is the only M&P pistol that hasnt been sold off. It fits my hands perfectly and is a well executed little pistol. The mags are high quality. for small single stack 45 autos, it would be my choice. The XDS 45 is also a nice pistol but not sure itā€™s still in production.

the kahr pistols Iā€™ve owned have been hit or miss. Corrosion issues. Poor CS that seeks to charge for repairing corrosion. Trigger breaks so far rearward that the kahrs are suited to small hands and challenging for larger hand users. In fairness I had a CT45 like a decade ago and it seemed reliable. but it felt so awkward.

sig P220 also a solid suggestion. Mine will never get sold and Iā€™m no Sig fan.

What about a S&W 457?
29 oz and 7 rounds.

I had one and wish I had not traded it off.

All I read here is that you want to sell me some .45 ammo. šŸ˜
I actually bought a Shield 45 during the damn panic because I had sold my other .45 pea shooters but still had a bunch of .45 ammo I had bought at pre-panic prices. Figured I needed a gun to go with the ammo. But somebody who shoots .45 a lot more wanted the ammo more than me, so Iā€™ve still got the gun, but 90% of the ammo is gone.

I've got one you can try, Wake county.

It might come to that.

The amount of 45 I seem to have collected is... well more than I thought. I would have to shoot it exclusively for quite a while to make it through the cache which is why I was hoping that something would catch my eye. I would have to shelve the G34, and that would make everyone sad.

Iā€™ve got a CMMG Banshee thatā€™s been SBRā€™d and is a lot of fun.
Also have a police trade-in Sig P220 DOA (not DAK) that will surely strengthen your trigger finger.
If you want borrow the P220 that could be arranged, I can get it as far as Raleigh over the holidays.
