Inflated pistol economy.

My Glock Apron, Glock shirt, Glock koozie, Glock bookbag, and Glock pen would all disagree.

It is morning, and I wake up at 6AM to the sound of 40 cal explosions from my Glock Clock™.
Opening my eyes I roll over and caress the Gaston Glock body pillow that has been my companion these many years.

"Guten Morgen, mein schatz" I whisper, resisting the urge to stay in bed longer. No, there are things to do, and Gaston will be here for me when I return home.

Rising from my rest, I slip my feet in luxurious black velvet Glock Slippers™ which are perfectly contoured to me feet and don't require any modification. I then put on my luxury Glock Bathrobe™ and start downstairs for breakfast.

As I walk past display cases of various Glock models, I can't help but stop to admire the Glock Horse Semen™ I paid an obscene amount of money for. It looks back at me from it's cryogenic display bottle, waiting on the day when I will buy a mare and produce an offspring worthy of the Glock name.

Downstairs, my Austrian maid greets me and at the table. Another breakfast of schwarzbrot and a boiled egg, just like Gaston eats.
Pulling up to sumptuous meal, my maid adorns me with my Glock Bib™ and puts a space age polymer Glock Spork™ in my hand that fits against my fingers without rubbing my knuckles the wrong way.

I gaze out on my lawn through the open window, admiring the IPSC targets swaying in the wind. The sun rises slowly over my estate, and as I take he first sip of my Glock Coffee™, or "Gloffee" as we patrician gun owners call it, I can only think of one word to describe my life.

"Perfection".

You've been hanging with the Bud Light crowd. Your man card needs to be revoked🤣😂

I need the source or can you supply me with what you are smoking or injecting.

Poppy cock. Plastic guns come and go .A quality steel and walnut revolver will last and price with remain higher than their cost. I would take this over any 3 or 4 plastic.guns.And it will still be around after those plastic guns have dried out and crumbled into oblivion.View attachment 616424
For the love of all that is good please don't break that firing pin. They have been getting MUCH harder to find for some reason. Not to say you couldn't shape/make another but I was blown away when a friend brought me his after not knowing to avoid dry-fire with the classics.

Don't forget your Glock Johnson. Yes, they're selling exactly what you think they are.

That’s a beautiful 27.

I'm not a Glock fanboy, but the G19 is one of the few guns I would be willing to purchase new, load it up, and walk into the 9th Ward without even dry firing the thing. Foolish, yes, but if I had to pick one gun to do work with without testing it, it would be a Glock.

At least a couple of times a month a visitor will ask.....If you KNEW you would need a gun before you got back to the highway, what would you take???

My answer is Always the same........I wouldn't go........................................

But do they? Come and go? Seems like Glock came, established a beachhead, and conquered the world. I will never denigrate revolvers. They have a role and a place. But plastic guns aren't going to go away.

Polymer handguns have been around for 40+ years. They are here to stay.

I have one of these that I bought when they came out in 1994.
It has seen its share of abuse and still keeps on rocking...
Any guesses on the Mfg. and model??
( It aint a Glock )

I don't think 1911s or Colt SAA clones will go anywhere, they are timeless classics. I will say that due to sheer volume plastic guns will be around a LONG time. 99% of plastic guns are seen as utilitarian tools compared to, say, a nice S&W 27. So they might be more beat up but I think they will be around forever, the materials keep getting lighter and stronger. There are fewer and fewer practical reasons to carry a revolver. Appearance in front of a jury, ban-state compliance while CCing, handling powerful cartridges in big predator (Brown bear, grizzlies, mountain lion) territory, not at risk of becoming obsolescent due to scarcity of magazines. BUT most stoppages with a semi-auto can be cleared fairly quickly. In my experience, once a revolver jams or malfunctions, it is DOWN for the count.

Carry and buy what you like. They're all great. If anyone just can't stand having a revolver or a plastic fantastic in their safe, I would be happy to help lighten your burden. :D

First guns are terrible financial investments so “keeping their value” is irrelevant to the discussion.
Second you will be dead and forgotten before the polymer on your Glock degrades enough to be a problem so that is a false argument.
Third ”more expensive does not mean better”. Just because you spend $1400 on a Python it is not 2 1/2 times better than a G19, it just more difficult to make and the target customer has money to burn from their social security check.

Not a revolver in the bunch...

They are all carrying hi-cap plastic weapons that go "Bang" every time.
Why carry 6 rounds when they all carry 12-15 rounds or more??

Mine was the Intratec CAT-45.

At the time it was the thinnest, lightest concealable factory .45 ACP you could buy. Bonus, it was super-inexpensive.

It would take almost 20 years for the industry to catch up to that gun.

I waited (and waited and waited) for Glock to build a single-stack pistol. I thought for sure the 10-round-limit of the AWB would push mfgs into making slimmer guns, and not just shorter bricks.

The CAT-45 is a solid performer.
Winner! Winner!
It is indeed an Intratec Cat 45. 7 round capacity.

The Cat series from Intratec was waaayyy ahead of its time.

Learn to shoot and you won't need all that ammo 🙄
Carry what you want. Life is about choices..

Looks like there are (6) threats in that pic that are armed. Are you telling me that you are skilled enough to neutralize all 6 with one shot each (with no misses) if you were to encounter them out in public at 5 to 15 yards distance in less than 10 seconds?? That is 1.5 sec per shot with 1 second left for the draw.

At least (4) semi auto handguns with 12+ capacity. That is a minimum of 48 rounds...

And (2) rifles with 30 round capacity is 60 rounds..

At least 108 rounds vs. 6...?? If you miss you are toast.

This scenario is easily set up on the range with ( 6 ) 8" steel plates. I'd like a demo please.

How many times have you been in that situation. I guess, None. If you have then your need to question your judgement . I don't always carry just one gun. Most of the time I carry two and always have an extra in the car. I do not frequent areas where that kind of activity occurs...

Its not a matter of "areas", or the "bad" part of town.
You do not get to pick and choose when this could occur..

This could happen at your local WalMart, the gas station, grocery store or at a busy intersection, etc, etc...

Kudos for carrying multiples!! I do too.

My "time" that I was in "that" situation was back in 1998. No "bad judgement" put me in this situation.

I was on my way to a funeral in Oklahoma. Construction on I-40 around Memphis, Tn. re-routed traffic through Memphis and down along the Mississippi River. This was around 2am...
I was held up by a train at a road crossing near the river. 7 dudes came from who knows where and stood next to the crossing gate at the front of my truck and stared me down.. I already had the Cat 45 out and ready in my lap.. waiting to see what happened.. I couldnt go forward and I couldnt back up into the semi behind me...
Thankfully, nothing happened and the train passed and I drove on by...
It made me think and re-evaluate a few things...
Upon return to SC, I immediately went and bought a Glock 17 and multiple mags with more capacity.

But do they? Come and go? Seems like Glock came, established a beachhead, and conquered the world. I will never denigrate revolvers. They have a role and a place. But plastic guns aren't going to go away.

But they have to! They are not carbon neutral.

HOW DARE YOU

Though I have the Shield in my daily carry, the Keltec PF9 I own I think is still the thinnest and lightest 9mm. Likewise inexpensive.

And you can feel every dollar it didn't cost in that trigger lol

I love me some cocaine fuelled Keltec insanity but their older handguns have some of the worst triggers I've ever felt and I owned some pot metal double action revolvers that cost less than Nerf guns.

The PF9 has a pretty typical plastic handgun trigger. The earlier P11 was the one with the 15 lb trigger in it. :)

I know better than this But...here I go anyway.....I know both these men. They have both visited here. One has spent several nights in The Bunk House here....he travels in the company and shoots with men who have represented this country in International Pistol Matches.....in short, He Can Shoot.

A flippant and insulting remark like this only makes the person saying it look silly....I have always made it a habit to try to know who I am talking to before I take a man on....it Can save embarrassment and in some cases bodily harm.....Always Know Who You Are Up Against.

There are No points to be made in a conversation like this by being insulting.....Raymond, I promise you that you would be proud to have this fella at your side if things went "sideways". AND, it wouldn't matter what he might have to pick up and use...... @Hashknife , I'll see you soon!

Thanks Billy!

You know me... I let alot just slide by...

but I will call sombody out in a heartbeat and give them the opportunity to back their statements up. I will open an invitation to come to my range, or I will load my steel and come to them.. Either way, we'll get on the range with the timer and steelplates and we will find out. I always offer to take pics, take videos, and do a write up/ review and post it here for all to see.

Mr. Raymond... The backstory on the photo of the carjacking is this...
That driver was in a truck/gooseneck trailer providing a "hotshot" delivery service. That driver did not live in Amarillo, nor use "bad judgement". They simply stopped for diesel in that town along I-40. When they were getting back on the freeway was when those crooks thought it would be wise to car-jack the driver and steal the truck and trailer ( and load )...
They thought otherwise when the hotshot driver shot their ass and shot their car full of holes with a 7.5" barreled AR pistol...

Question for you Sir...
How come L/E across this nation does not use revolvers anymore???

Edit: sorry i got excited when i saw it and posted before reading the posts after it. I remember seeing that gun on the cover of a gun magazine when i was younger and thought it was the coolest looking thing. I completely forgot about it until just now when you posted. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Cool little gun you got there.

Raymond, nowadays I carry 1 365 and usually a Baby Browning when outside. Occasionally I carry 2 Taurus Views. 2 five shot .38s that weigh 10 ounces Loaded. When inside The Gates almost anything......Colt SAAs, Colt 1911s and an assortment of .22s.
I don't go "Heavy" any more................I no longer have a reason to......I always have Something. If for no other reason than to be able to follow Clint Smith's advice........................If somebody kills You...Killem BACK!....Hope you can make it this way soon...we both always enjoyed your visits.
