What kind of weirdos were color coding the bikinis?
They must have been...

it’s the color order for CAT5 B Termination, I literally have made thousands of those connections with the rare A tossed in by some sicko just to mess with you, which is why you NEVER clip an end without checking the order, or else you’ll be scrounging around on the ground looking for it.

Somewhat relatable- Several years ago, I was in my 1st week with a new company helping one of the commercial techs install POE cams in a bar on Hillsborough st. I had 6-7 years alarm/low voltage experience at this time & cat5b was old hat. I knew from earlier training they were “supposed” to use B in the field.

I was mounting & terminating the device end, he handled the switch. He started cussing & ranting once we powered up & no ports lit up- I wired B, he had his own personal twist, like a mix of a/b.. I almost punched him in the mouth when he blurted out “ you dumb red neck M-F’er, you should do it my way!”.. hell to the nawww!! That night landed both of us in the managers office, and he got an ass chewing for non standard wiring.

had it been in a different thread, i wouldn't have caught on. It took a minute, and the pattern didn't jump out... but kind of said "psst.. haven't you've seen these colors before?"
