HA HA! EVERY TIME I ORDER A COKE...
The proper answer to “Is Pepsi okay?” is “yes, it’s okay, but I asked for a Coke”.
Too funny. Minnesota winter vs the south
Try 38 years in London... Brits may be known for being "polite" but saying sorry for everything does not equal manners. When we moved down here (it's been a year now) saying 'Ma'am' and 'Sir' became an instant part of my life. I had never done that before (except in the military).
I really like it.
Also, when they say the South is more polite..... it's no joke. Spend 50 years in NY state, then come here. Even though I myself am a transplant, I already take pity on the obvious transplants who don't take on the customs and politeness of the South. When I walk in a store or restaurant and hear that beautiful accent of a born-Southerner.... it warms my heart and I know the experience will be grand.

And then there was this guy...
There was a hilarious billboard and website in Charleston about GBTO (Go Back To Ohio)That was a regular part of my life growing up in the polite Midwest. They picked Minnesota for the skit because of the brutal cold, but the people I've met are nice as can be. Now, my Ohio relatives will cut your ass...
That’s a function of how many more I bought since those “laws” passed.
