Now we come to my problem. What is a VPN?You tube it. Lots of videos there that detail how to do it.
And make sure you are running a VPN.

lol exactly. I'd do it if I were nearby. Would only take a few minutes to install the new build, and it will detect the old one and keep all the add ons.I don't think you guys understand Curt. I will be doing one this evening with mobdro.
VPN. Nope. Don't think a law exist right now anyhow. Could be wrong on that!!!
FYI and FWIW, my understanding is that some of the addons use torrent technology. And torrenting will definitely get you a letter from your internet provider.I will be doing one this evening with mobdro.

I would recommend protecting yourself also, but until it does pass it's just a precaution and nothing more.A law doesn't exist just yet, but it is coming. I wouldn't want to be the test case and that is why I recommend anyone using a Kodi box to use a VPN.

How so? They would need to be decoded on the fly and decoding off a partial file. Torrents don't work unless they are completely download then opened. The idea behind kodi is steaming from a server, meaning your not downloading the file. That's why it's not illegal.FYI and FWIW, my understanding is that some of the addons use torrent technology. Torrent technology has changed since you last looked. Some of the addons are using modern livestream torrent technology. In fact, this is popular for watching live sports - which is the most obvious thing that would have been impossible with old torrent tech. How so? My internet was disconnected from using PopcornTime without a vpn. They even told me what movie it was that got it disconnected. Wife lied and said it must've been kids on the computer so they cut it back on. But now we use vpn when doing movies and tv to avoid this.
Kodi is getting to be to much for anyone not compelled to keep it up on their own. I am fairly good with computers and kodi is abit silly trying to chase installs amd different builds for me. Curt keep your $$ and go with amazon prime and an OTA. OTA are cheap and work well if you have a tv capable of using one.
^^^ @gunbelt, this is good advice.Curt keep your $$ and go with amazon prime and an OTA. OTA are cheap and work well if you have a tv capable of using one.
I have a Tablo, it works great and you can add it to a Roku so it streams on TV's not connected to the antennaDoes anyone who uses OTA tv have a DVR for it and how does it work out for you?
