Specifically for F150 5.0....

Whipple?
Rousch?
Brand X?

I obviously know that Rousch and Ford are in bed together. Are they better engineered? What is the cost of everything installed (ballpark)?

That's kinda the point! LOL

I'm wondering if the Rousch would be under warranty if Ford installed it.

I've seen 650HP (at the wheels) with some. Of course...there's always the Super Snake 750HP F150....but since I have DirtySCREW...might as well look into supercharger or turbos!

This guy SMOKES a twin turbo Viper in another vid!

Is that just a bolt on hp increase or is there head work, exhuast, cams and piston changes also ?

Looks like bolt on other than cold air intake, exhaust, and ECM tuning.....

But you're the expert, NOT me....

For getting to the range in a hurry.

And for when I'm lollygagging.

SHOWOFF!!!!

But just think, if you supercharge the F150, you can get to the range quick in either one! LOL

And you'd know we'd have to see some Drag times of the 150 vs the stang! There's a Youtube channel Idea for you @fieldgrade !!

Your welcome. Send me my residual every month....LOL
no seriously!

What year model is yours? Mine has the 6 speed trans, and it moves pretty good for the beast that it is.

Or when you re going to Uwharrie. Wouldn't want to take the Mustang on that dirt road.
Look at the space between the top of tires, and the wheel wells. The Cobra guys all lower theirs, and stock ones like mine are called the "4x4 look". Lol.

2017 5.ooooohhhhhhh

Thats looks good, brudah. Same as my 2017. For what it's worth, there's not a whole lot of discussion of Roush blowers on the SVT website where I hang out, but my time is spent in the 4.6 litre Cobra section, and not so much discussion of Coyotes.

Are the SVT blowers made by Roush on the Terminator?

Still, wouldn't want to mess up the paint with the flying dirt and pebbles. :D
I take my Veloster out there. But I take it easy. Every time I go there I wish I still have my Wrangler. :D

I need to figure out how to convince my wife my car needs 3 days in the shop for a "tune" aka supercharger

This is the trouble with a car "habit", versus a gun "habit".
Guns are way easier to hide.

Roush does not make their supercharger. The Roush is a re-branded Eaton TVS.

With the cams for the trucks (getting more tq) you'll have a tq monster. Keep the stock type tires, if you go sticky tires you will start to break stuff and increase wear/tear on the drive train.

The TVS are a hybird, if you will, taking the pros of a twin screw and a roots style and combining them.

This was my mustang (2012, track package, 5.0). I bought this, Dad bought a 13' GT500, I then put the supercharger. Time from rolling in and out of the shop was 8-9 hours, it was time we had gotten alot of snow in Feb of 2013. 9 Psi it laid down....... 640hp and 548tq at the wheels. Look at that tq line! Since the Shelby could handle the power (660 Flywheel - 10% drivetrain loss (being generous here)= 600 wheel horsepower it would hook and go. Mine was like a violet kick in the but was a very very fun car. Found out I had diabetes type 1 a month lather and car was sold in April.

This was my first mustang I ever done when I graduated High School. I built the c4 transmission a few times learning it. Put a transbrake in it (engages 1st and reverse at the same time). Hold the button, push the gas through the firewall, release button and off you went. Made 650ish but inside was stripped.

How does that work?

Auto transmission is driven by hydraulics. You modify the valve so oil can pressurize the clutch packs of reverse and 1 gears when a solenoid is turned on

Down side is a increase of temp by 1 sec= 75-100 degrees. Big lines, cooler, more cacpity. I ran 3 parts hydroguard ( John deer combine hydraulic fluid). To 1 part atf.

There will be teetjing issues getting it programed right count on that. Most likley besides the super charger you will need a better fuel system and some exaust work to make the most of it and programming. Be safe and set aside 10k for everything.

Not sure about the F150 but I believe on the Mustang the TVS (Roush) kits require some grinding/trimming for install. The Whipple seems to make a little more power with a slightly easier install. Still trying to convince my wife I NEED a new 5.0 10-speed Mustang to put a Whipple on.

Yes, you have to grind on the block and I think tap a bolt hole for the Roush. The paxton is the easiest to install and best bang for buck. The 2.9l Whipple is the best PD blower for power but costs more.

Have to cut off a boss on the timing cover..nothing hard. Don't think you have to tap. Don't remember that part to be honest

Last year I ordered a short cab, short bed, with roll up windows. It was ordered with 3:55 gears. The steepest they will sell with the 5.0. It weighs 4K pounds on the scales. Race Red GT will tell you it is a sleeper from Hell. The only mistake I made was by being a year early. The same truck this year has the 10 speed.
I can't speak to anywhere else, but here there are no STOCK trucks of any make that have anything for it in the 1/8th.
There is one on YT with a transmission reprogram ONLY running in the 12s in a quarter.
My truck weighs a thousand pounds less than anything I know of. Take traction control off, turn on electronic locker, put in Sport, do not rev just hold the brake, try to stomp accell through the floor and away you go....quickly.
I bought my wife a new GT Mustang Convertible and before we took it home had the dealership install the Ford Racing Supercharger. It had an auto trans and it was a HOOT! I bought a new GT500 and of course it was a factory deal with full warranty. Her car was guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles after the conversion. Before that time was up I sold it and bought her a new Corvette. I've gotten lazy in my old age and until Ford offers me an auto with lotsa power, I'll just have to be happy with my truck as my toy.

I thought you did on one of the kits, but who knows. I've researched all of them, finally decided on the paxton.. it just keeps getting delayed haha

Some of that whine noise is the belt trapping air against the pulley(s). Small holes can be drilled in the pulley(s) to "vent" or bleed the air off and it will reduce the noise factor.

Check out the belt/pulley noise on this 14-71 when it spools up.

The paxton and vortech make alot of noise too but its different. Sounds like the worlds biggest vacuum cleaner. Prochargers have straight cut gears so they have a whistley sound.
