Looting Gun Store

Every FFL got that email. We also got a voice message from the ATF stating the same thing... The ATF will probably get them on failure to secure inventory and/or records.

Negative Ghostrider, I've got a Type 03 FFL and didn't get one. Course I don't have a inventory just a collection. ATF doesn't have a mandatory list on how to secure your inventory. Thieves had the time to break into a building and rob it.

All of the FFL's I have had contact with ( FFL Type 07 ) got the email and a VM phone call. I'm not sure of the ATF protocol on something like this. If I was in a flood plain and disastrous flooding was imminent, I would have moved my inventory to secure high ground or away from the area completely. Your mileage may vary.

"ATF doesn't have a mandatory list on how to secure your inventory"

Correct. They do not define how one maintains inventory security. They do require the inventory to be secure at all times by the licensee. ( and available to ATF for inspection at any time for any reason )
It will be interesting to see what direction the ATF takes and what becomes of this.
