M1a love

Is this a scope mount or a dust cover? Has writing on top and numbers. Pictures were sent to me.

I've given half a thought to the E2 stocks that SARCO is advertising. But I'll probably just leave the Armscorp as-is......

That's one hell of a price, last one I saw with metal was $450+ several years ago.

Firearms News had an article about fitting and finishing the Sarco stock. It's not a drop in part apparently.

The wire stocked M1a doesn’t have much padding but I don’t mind it some friends didn’t care for it told them y’all been shooting those ar15s to long😂

Wish there was a real competitor to Springfield here. I feel like an M1A/M14 that was either better quality or American made, or closer to 1k would kill them (or at least force improvements on Springfield's part).

There is a quality American competitor. Bula.

My first one! Scout Squad, added an ARMS mount and vortex scope. Had to take off the scout mount rail to clear the scope with medium rings, now I just need a new upper handguard to fill the hole.

Polytech M14/S currently.

I started with M14s in ROTC in 1975. I've owned 3 M1As over the years: a Devine TX 3-digit SN in the mid 70s, a 1985 and a late 80s. The 85 and late 80s were both all GI parts. I gave the most recent one to my son when he was home on leave from Iraq in 2007. It has an HRA barrel, Winchester oprod, and TRW bolt.

I realized at Woodys earlier this week that I cannot see the plates at 200 yds with iron sights. I probably shot 30 rounds from the Polytech and scored one solid hit. I can still see targets at 100 yds with irons at least.
Put a scope on that badboy !
