Eh. First show back is kids stuff. They really dumbed it down.

Did they really have to make the pirates sound like they were from the 1700's? Someone saying "avast" and "doth" is a good way to take you out of a space cowboy show.

Coupla cringy moments but I've seen a lot worse from Disney Star Wars. The N1 Starfighter was the real star of that episode.
Greef shoots the gun out of his hand *facepalm*, Space pirates talking and acting like Carribean Pirates, and a Major costuming fail for Captain Easter Egg Basket.

Pirates of Caribbean is also Disney property. Maybe we'll get a crossover show with Johnny Depp in an eyepatch.

They reminded me of Pirates of Caribbean.

I’m going binge…..

I failed...
I was home and sitting on the couch at 2 pm. Turned on the TV and saw the Disney+ app.

What they've been hinting at for the first 2 seasons is finally happening. I was happy with this new episode
mandalore is not cursed, and much of it remains
din djarin lost the dark sabre in battle, bo katan won it in battle, and she didn't have to battle din to win it
bo katan is now the rightful ruler of mandalore in legacay and by right of the dark sabre, and she will lead those who abandoned her
somebody is gonna ride that mythosaur

The history of the Dark Saber is not a straight line and even though it seems like it. It is not like the Elder Wand in Harry Potter which has a master who must obtain the Saber defeating its owner in combat.

These are the people who have processed the Dark Saber

  • Tarre Vizsla: He is the original owner and builder of the Dark Saber. The only Mandalorian Jedi this was around 1032 BBY. It was taken from him and placed in the Jedi Temple
  • Pre Vizsla: He and other members of Death Watch stole back around 21 BBY. He attempts to use it to reunite the Mandalore.
  • Darth Maul: He killls Pre Vizsla and takes the Saber but he is defeated by Dark Sidious but he does not take the saber. Maul has it as late as BBY 19. He is eventually killed b Obwan but the Saber is long gone.
  • Kanan Jarrus: In Rebels Sabine Wren gets the Saber from the Nightsisters and gives it to the only Jedi she knows which Kanan Jarrus.
  • Sabine Wren: Kanan Jarrus gives it back to Sabine and tries to train her to use it.
  • Bo-Katan Kryze: Sabine Wren then gives it to Bo-Katan so she can reunite Mandalore. She fails and the result is The Great Purge in during the Emperial Era. She flees and leaves the Saber.
  • Moff Gideon: He was a general in the Purge and ends up with the Saber around 9 ABY.
  • Din Djarin: Defeats Gideon and takes possession of the saber but offers it to Bo-Katan who refuses it because she had to win it in battle.
So when you look at the history the possession of the Dark Saber has really only moved from one owner to another via direct combat twice. The Saber has never united the Mandalorians it has almost always divided them. I think that is will do that again. Din Djarin is the owner of the Saber in the eyes of The Watch. They will not follow Bo-Katan if Din Djarin is still alive. She would be seen once again as a pretender.

The Mythosaur in the room is the other prophecy which The Armorer alludes to. That the return of the Mythosaur will be the start of the new era of Mandalore. It is not clear that Din Djarin saw it. Bo-Katan knows the old stories and prophecies. The Mythosaur is central to the Mando culture and is axiomatic. It is the origin point. It is older than the Dark Saber and one who can bring it back and maybe even "ride it" like their ancestors will trump the owner of the Dark Saber.

To me this is the conflict. She is not going to get the Dark Saber. DF & JF along with the director of Episode 2 Rachel Morrison make sure that you see that Din Djarin is still in possession of the Saber at the end of Episode 3. They zoom in on the Saber on his belt. I think he is going to retain the Saber and she will bring the Mythosaur and their factions will fight for control. The Dark Saber will once again be a source of division not unity. The question becomes who wins and in what manner. I believe that The Armorer has a hidden agenda. She knows more than she tells Mando and might be using him to meet her goals.

I agree 100% that the show took a huge leap towards what we want to see. He is my wild theory. Who in the show can both wield a lightsaber and control an animal? Grogu is the only one and he is a now both a Mandalorian Foundling and a Jedi.

I've been telling people that haven't seen the new episode that grogu rode the mythosaur just to mess with them

I just realized that’s the chick who played deputy sheriff Vic on longmire.

She looks better and completely different as a brunette.
Yep. That’s her. 😁

You probably would’ve recognized her faster is she walked around with her armor unzipped.

I saw a comment about her online once that made me chuckle. Disappointits. I'm not sure it applies, not having seen whatever film that comment was referencing, but I've definately experienced that reaction in real life back in high school. I've decided not to actively persue any kind of fact finding regarding Katie Sackhoff since I kind of enjoy her casting in just about everything I have seen her in.

It was Jar Jar Binks AKA Ahmed Best now known as Kelleran Beq. He is one of teachers at the Jedi Temple. He is known as "The Sabered Hand". He uses Jar'Kai or the 2 light saber style also used by Asoka. He is the one who saves Grogu from order 66. They escape in a H-Type Nubian yacht star cruiser. I believe that the it is the same ship Anakin and Padme flew in the Prequel the Clone Wars. Some people are speculating that this will lead to Grogu going to Nabooo. The guards with the ship are personal guards of a Senator. Who is the Senator of Naboo?

Another point I found interesting was that the Shriek Hawks which take Ragnar are native to Mandalore. They are the sigil of clan Vizsla and Death Watch. This tells you that they are near Mandalore. It also explains why they keep the young. I also think the interaction between The Armorer and Bo Katan is interesting. The Armorer brushes her off when she says she saw a Mythosaur. It was telling that Bo Katan choose the Mythosaur for her shoulder armor replacement. The Armorer treats it like a vision and seems to discount that there is a living Mythosaur in the mines.

Did anyone else catch the helmets in the opening credits? The last one is a Mandalorian. It in red. All the the helmets in red are evil the blue are good. So who is the last helmet? I am going to guess that is it Paz Vizsla.

All in all the reveal was awesome. The character saving him makes sense and is pulling from outside strict cannon to create a new story. It makes more sense to me than some of the other "Jedi" that were suggested. I still believe R2D2 will have a role to play. The season 2 finale was not the first time he had seen Grogu. Some of the action was just Ok but I thought it moved the story along.
