I think this is a great solution along with a non paying member gets 6 months to visit the forum for free and if they don’t pay up, give them the boot. The yearly membership here is so cheap for what’s available, you should be embarrassed not to join.
 
I don’t do much wheeling and dealing. However, the amount of drama caused by BST (only) posters hasn’t gone unnoticed. Perhaps the question that should be asked is, do they bring enough value to the actual membership to be worth the cost?

I 100% stand by my original post and believe that this is a simple fix. Its obvious that very few agree with me here and i understand that. I also cross-posted this on another site because its what i feel is a prominent problem on both sites. That, i also stand by 100%.
My post was in capitals as to make sure it was seen as sometimes posts will slip through the cracks-i believe this was taken as "yelling" or "anger" but this is not the case.
At no point in my post did I or have i since, insulted or insinuated wrong-doing towards any individual.
You all clearly disagree with me on this and i see that clearly. I take no offense.

However, again.....it is clear that you all disagree and with that I leave the rest of the thread to you.

I will also be sending a financial support to CFF to compensate, as I see in this thread that was definitely an issue and i was honestly not even aware of it.

Pull up a chair and hang around. As we like to say, we’re more than a gun forum and we’re certainly more than a classified section.

Reading through it, and taking the emotion out if it, you raised a valid and interesting point, that has sparked some discussion, though I’ll admit it helps to know th players ad have a feel for reading the locker room. :)
 
I thought @Pegleg71775 handled it pretty well actually. He didnt back down with his tail between his legs, but he didnt go all butthurt and get himself a banhammer like weve seen some do.

And as awesome as some of the people here are, you have to admit sometimes it can be a tough crowd for newer folks who get off on the wrong foot

here’s the thing with you …

you walk into someone’s house, use up there stuff for free, then complain that when you are digging through their house you come up with empty wrappers sometimes.
Then have the audacity to tell them they must clean this up, as you don’t like the inconvenience.
for a quick fix, you offer to do it.
But here’s the thing, we/ they/ all of us don’t know you, just that you’re making this place a convince to you.
You’re not telling us any thing about you, nothing about your life, not trying to help others here thru theirs… nothing. ( you should have started with that)

Now… it’s too late, you’ve doubled down.

Man ole man. What a couple months it’s been on the forum. Somebody makes a suggestion and the wolves eat people. Over and over and over. Even all the moderators are now blood thirsty. Who’s moderating the moderators? Usually a newer guy gets hammered so much he implodes. Did not happen this time. Must be a lot of sad people. Lot of people easily triggered. Nothing wrong with continuous improvement. Nothing evil about new guys, nor non paying, nor non posting. Management said that multiple times over the years. Matter of fact about 99% come as non supporting then realize, “you know what, I want to help this site.”

Don’t worry about it. A few times while looking for something specific, I’ve felt the same as you about already sold or non responders.
Also realize a bunch of us nutters are sarcastically entertaining ourselves, and looking a bit to see how you react.

No need to leave just because members disagreed with your suggestion. It happens all the time (especially on Fridays, for some reason).

Participate on the other sections of this forum and you’ll see there are a plethora of topics and knowledge. Maybe even add some of your own ideas/knowledge to the threads.

Like @BlackGun stated, I am also a little concerned about the overall direction of this thread. Maybe some of the vitriol was in response to your comments about making you a mod but some instantly discounted your opinion because you don’t have a banner after your name. That is unfortunate because we sometimes forget we didn’t create our accounts and immediately become supporting members/lifetime/etc (well, a lot did when this site was created but that was mostly because of the previous site) either. Many of the posters in this thread started off without a banner, participated in other sections, saw what a great place this is and then joined.

So, give the site a chance before deciding to leave. It really is more than just a BST forum

Some folks see no value in a little hazing, chaffing, ribbing, etc. which is unfortunate because it reinforces societal rules.

If folks can't take it when they color outside the lines it's likely you didn't want them here in the first place.
 
In truth to the OP- I think a valid observation was made. Sometimes it takes “ new” eyes to see things we have a tendency to become blind to over time.

I’ll be honest- I was checking to revive an older classified the other day- and came across a few things that I’d forgotten I posted for sale!
To the point of others - that’s because the classifieds are one ( small) part of what I get out of this forum , and therefore gets overlooked sometimes…
