NCSU ACC champions

Anyone beating Purdue and Uconn is unlikely IMO but go PACK!
I remember the first two championships. Would love to see another but I ain't holding my beath.

My som drove up again to Dallas to see the game with his wife and twin boys. He said tickets started at $90 but when he pulled the trigger they were $38 for upper mid seats. At the gate they had the same tickets for $29. That would never happen on the east coast.

PR was packed for both the womens and mens games as expected. We got to the bell tower quickly.
So much fun!
I was there 92-96 and wasn't much to celebrate then. Go PACK!!

So proud of both teams. It is hard being a State fan. So many times we have come close to something really special and it just didn’t work out.

Countless times since I graduated from State, I run into Tarheel and Duke fans that discount us. They call us “the cow college” and don’t really consider us a threat to their teams. But now they have to “stand in line” for once.

It has been a great ride. Watching them become a team, unselfish, where any of them can step up and have a huge contribution. I guess something just clicked.

This is more than I, as a fan, could have hoped for.

Yes, about 5 or 6 years at a time, with 2-3 transfers apiece. 😂

And it doesn't matter, because they're all wearing red now.

Now that the sting is wearing off, I'll pull for them.
Good for you! I'm a UNC fan who attended Purdue for a year...and even I will be pulling for State.

But full disclosure, I wouldn't have been pulling for Duke if they had won. That would just be too much for me. 😆

Ditto. My daughter is a freshman at NCSU and my stepdaughter graduated from there a few years ago. I graduated from Duke in 1984 and was there for Coach K's first 4 years before the success and remember going over to Raleigh to party at NCSU in 1983. One of my memories is at a certain bar on Hillsborough with some fraternity brothers and NCSU students cheering GTHC, GTHC. ABC baby!!

In 1983, me wifey and I attended the last regular season game in Reynolds Coliseum, which they lost to Maryland. Then we and a group of family and friends watched every single game on TV, culminating with the National Championship game against Phi Slamma Jamma. Houston, with Olajuwan (only one dunk) and Clyde Drexler (1 of 5 FGs, 4 points), lost despite being heavy favorites.

It's funny to listen to the announcers trying hard not to recycle the quips and nick names from '83. It's great to see the heavy favorites fall!

Where PR is, there used to be a restaurant that served alcohol, even at breakfast.

My family and I were stationed at USAFA out in Colorado during '83, 1,500 miles from home. We watched that championship game in '83 and were so excited our home team did the deed admirably. I still remember seeing Jimmy V running around the court like a madman looking for someone to hug. :D

When you are far from home, seeing the home team step up helps. A lot.
