Go ahead and get some grip tape. The Shield needs it unless you have the 45 version.
Yeah, that's what I roll with on my Shield. I do have to change them at the end of the summer. Summer sweat kinda degrades it's grip surface.Talon Grips (rubber) made all the difference in the world on mine.

And look up Hyve Technologies...they make great Shield parts. And the +2 baseplates are great on your back up mags.

By the way, I want to buy a couple Shield 9mm 7 round magazines. As L2S knows, I have a bunch of 8 rounds but they don't drop because of my fat palm. While the 8 round magazines are being sold for around $20, the best price I can find on the 7 is $25. Buying 7 or more (I believe we can mix types), the price comes down to $21.25. Anybody around the triad want to go in on a group buy? I'd be happy to open it up to everybody but the cost of me shipping a couple to you would probably be close to the same as buying them yourself.

I have a few safe queen M&P's but not one that I shoot that doesn't have Talons. I haven't yet found a better upgrade.

I have heard that it will shorten barrel life but the money it saves more then replaces the new barrel and pays for more ammo. I wish I had endless cash to only buy the best but the more ammo costs the less I can shoot. More shooting equals a happier and more accurate me!I stopped running Tula when I became concerned it might cause more wear than brass. The Tula cycled fine in my FS M&P but I'd burned it all up before buying my first Shield.
I won't need to buy 9mm for a month or so but I've been wondering about https://www.outdoorlimited.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=115grpcl9mm. Anybody know anything? I went through a thousand rounds of https://www.outdoorlimited.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=mm9mm115tmj and was satisfied. Out of the case, I had maybe 3 or 4 that failed to fire. Next time I was picking up at Outdoor Limited I asked if they had any use for them. They took them and said David was building a lamp out of such rounds. I'd like to see that when he's finished.
