Wow, I remember pasting a bunch of those in the book every time we came home from grocery shopping, then dreaming of the wonderful things we would get, someday.
I got my first fishing rod with green stamps.
The tunnel that goes under the mill where they use to unload the cotton is still whole. We had to go in there to trace something (I can't remember what now), man talk about creepy. Those guys would unload it and transport it basically in the pitch black.
Have you checked out the old pictures at town hall?
Unfortunately, I don't have a scanner. Need to find the negatives again too.Try scanning the negatives and see if they show up. I have a box of thousands of old negatives I saved from my grandparents house. They were being thrown out and no telling what may be in them.
The 3722nd was a USAF Basic Military Training (BMT) Squadron at Lackland AFB, Texas. Each Squadron had a competition for one Flight to be named Honor Flight, usually resulting in a weekend pass if you won; pissed off TIs if you didn't.Anybody got info on this flag? Wife’s uncle was in the Air Force pre Korean War. Flag says “Honor Flight 3722” dated 1-5-1950. Says they win it.
