One Hit Wonders.

For Squirrels.

This song only made it to 97 on the billboard but man it was a huge hit in the late 90’s on alternative rock stations.

Jimmy’s Chicken Shack

Only song to use the word infinitesimal.

Used to hear a lot of fun music on German radio & MTV Europe. Got into more than a few German bands that way. Funny thing is that bands like Ugly Kid Joe were kinda seen as a joke here, but were huge in Europe.

His bio says Naval Academy grad and Marine sniper.

I thought I had a great one with this Jim Steinman song, but apparently an uncredited Rory Dodd sang it on Steinman's Bad for Good album. Dodd also sang backup for Meatloaf, and was the 'turn around, bright eyes' singer on Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse Of The Heart' (another Steinman song). I guess it's still a one hit wonder, but not at the same level as a guy that wrote a bunch of hits for other people only having one of his own.

Ah, fair enough. Blonde in the chorus sort of dims my memory of any other Squeeze tune.

I’m the loser with the Squeeze Greatest hits download so in my mind they have about 6 hits. It’s all subjective. Thankfully I’m not at @thrillhill fire pit tonight or I’d get no sleep and kill a liver.

Yeah. And that dude was huge in Europe. But in the U.S., I kinda think of the After the Fire version as being the definitive version of Der Kommissar:

First time I heard the original in a club in Germany threw me for a loop. I'd just gotten there & hadn't learned the language yet & was like WTF? I know this, but? Fast forward a few years & I'm involved a Spanish pop vs. German pop karaoke competition in a bar in Palma de Mallorca between a handful of very drunk Spanish & German couples that included myself & my then GF.

Good times. Man, I had so much fun in Europe.

With the Divinyls, I always think of this one:
