Protect your HOA status: 2018 Ford Mustang GT gets 'quiet' mode
Good Neighbor mode can be scheduled for certain times of the day; 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. sounds good to us. A study by Ranker.com found that “loud engine revving ranks among the most annoying noises neighbors make, alongside other common nuisances including lawn mowers, power tools, barking dogs and band practice.”
Protect your HOA status: 2018 Ford Mustang GT gets 'quiet' mode
The 2018 Ford Mustang GT is getting an available multimode exhaust when deliveries start this fall. That’s good for the track and strip, but not great when you give your neighbor a 6 a.m. wakeup call day, after day, after day. That’s what happened to former head of vehicle engineering for Ford Steve von Foerster, whose neighbor called the cops after one particularly epic morning startup. Going forward, all the GTs (with the exhaust option) get a "quiet" mode for street driving AND a “Good Neighbor” mode, turning down the 460-hp V8's volume to a dull roar on startup.
