Petition to bring back post reactions

This is a benevolent oligarchy, not a democracy.
Benevolent towards whom, though? Babies who DM y'all to have a good, emotional cry after receiving a "laughing" emoji on their overpriced post, or those of us who have kissed a girl at some point in our lives?

In all seriousness, I'm very grateful to all the site operators. Y'all are chill and awesome. It just seems very out of character to draw this line.

We’ve all accepted that for the most part.

Temp bans, bans, content removal, etc.. All that needs to be able to function without too much pushback or the need to complete transparency and CFF has done that well.

But to remove a function of the forum completely (albeit from a section of subforums only) seems reactionary. Surely there wasn’t a majority of members that complained and if not, how did a minority of members get that level of traction?

Was it really to satisfy the emotional well-being of a small number of members? Were they subscribed members at least?

I, for one, agree wholeheartedly with our forum overlords.
You, sir, have received 1 merit on your account.

For the rest of you…May the odds be ever in your favor.

We use to have an open discussion BST. The rules were simple and few. Don’t be an ass and don’t stomp other people’s ads.

Some people couldn’t handle that. They just had to be asses and stomp other people’s ads.

So our choice was ban a whole bunch of grown men who couldn’t act like grown men or remove comments.

Then these same infants decided instead they would “weaponize” emojis to bully BST ads they didn’t agree with for one reason or another.

So now that’s gone.

I mean grown men could just ignore BST ads they disagree with and grown men could ignore emojis posted on their ads.

But they can’t. They physically cannot. I’m not sure why…yet here we are.

I miss the banter in the BST when it wasn’t antagonizing but we can never go back I’m afraid.

See, as someone who doesn't look at the BST enough to have really been involved in much of the 'haha' emoji scene, I actually kind of liked it when others would do it, because it was a good red flag for newer members to see that maybe that post isn't such a good deal, and it could be worthy of more investigation.

If you were a newb and saw a post for a gun you wanted, but then saw it had 5 "haha" emojies, wouldn't that maybe help you to stop for a second to wonder what was going on, and ultimately possibly help to save you from a bad decision or at least negotiate the price down?

As a broke guy who doesn't buy or sell much, it doesn't really affect me. I just know this is generally a forum where people rib each other hard and come out of it with a good attitude, so I was surprised by the change to prevent this form of ribbing.

This is sadly an irretrievable part of Friday nights, long, long ago.

And I used to laugh my butt off. 😂🤣😅
