Proposing a “suspended” status

@12151791 suggested the creation of such a status to be used in place of “banned” when a user has been only temporarily prevented from participation in the forum. His suggestion was in the middle of a thread that went sideways and has been locked; I thought it a good enough idea to repeat it here. i think it worth distinguishing users that get a time-out from those that get the boot.

There isnt a way to change that with xenforo. I've checked.

It seems like an easy to see marker someone is in time out, instead of stealing or breaking a deal. I'm on board as long as it isn't a super difficult thing for the mods. If its a big deal I wouldn't sweat it.

Best I can do is to remove the addon that puts it in red below the username and the username will just have a strike through. Sadly its either all or nothing so if I do remove it users wont have a big red text in there face if they've been talking to a scammer and miss the strikethrough on the name but might be texting outside of CFF with them.

@amnesia how about creating a custom banner, much like "supporting member" and "vendor" are used that says something like "Penalty Box"?

I mean, if you're gonna snivel about something, make it over something like say...a gun cleaning sub forum. They would probably go for that.

eta; looks like one of the charter snivelers done gun cleaning already.
So maybe instead of suspended it could be suspenders. @Scsmith42 could be the mod. Then when he goes ban-happy he could say he suspendered him. Under the perps avatar it could say SUSPENDERD.

Fortunately it’s a rare situation, so I wouldn’t suggest a manual workaround even though there are plenty of options where someone else (I’m looking at our well-loved mods) would get to do the work;-)

I'd say if you are active on the forum... and a subscribed member, you pretty much know what the goings on are and can decide if you want to do business with some who had a temporary time out or not... if they got a permanent vacation, seems to be a moot point.

I figured out that my "sleep paralysis" was me dreaming that I had sleep paralysis.

Not me, the offenders. And I'm only halfway joking. They could be suspended until the fine is paid. I think it would get more attention, reduce problems and generate revenue.
