I preferred buckles too until I tried one without. I haven't scratched a fender or took my belt off for a checkpoint in many years.
And if you’re a supporting member of CFF, there’s a 20% discount. (Not a secret, it’s posted in his vendor forum).Another recommendation for the Fatboy. I've had mine for 5 years now and wear it literally everyday. Still in great shape and the only belt I will consider. Worth every penny. I will never buy another store bought belt again
Edit: To add, I have the XX Fatboy belt Curt made a while back. I think I paid $80 for it? Which was a lot of money to me at the time. Truth be told, times have definitely changed financially but even so I would spend $100+ today without hesitation for a belt of this quality and thickness. You cannot find one anywhere that comes close to how long these belts will last.
Think about buying a $25 belt every year. Not only is that $25 belt going to be junk from day one and even more so at the end of the year...you are going to spend more overtime for a lesser quality product. Buy once cry once
I believe he’s said mechanics and guitar players are two of his most popular customer bases...I preferred buckles too until I tried one without. I haven't scratched a fender or took my belt off for a checkpoint in many years.
Possibly but all my belts serve double duty, so I prefer a belt that can be worn with work clothes (slacks, khakis, etc) and I prefer buckles, so Beltman gets my vote
I have two new Fatboy belts in the original packaging because I can't wear out the last two I bought.
I was going to buy 2 until I got my first. If I buy another it will be because I want a different color. You CANNOT wear it out.
Now you gotta get another colorI just got my Fatboy Leather belt from Curt at two fools leather goods. Excellent quality and it fits great. Love the design and the fact there is no metal buckle.If you're in the market, I recommend this belt!
What size do you have? Is it cut down?

They claim it is sized 24-44", but I'm trying to find the overall length of the leather. I have a similar belt now, that is 48" of leather (not including buckle), for a so-called 44" waist.
After using this buckle system, I never want to go back to the one inch increment systems of belt-holes.
That's the deal-breaker of choosing the belts most recommended in this thread.
Any pictures of the way the belt works?I preferred buckles too until I tried one without. I haven't scratched a fender or took my belt off for a checkpoint in many years.
@gunbelt
I have a 44" Fat Boy belt that I got from you in Greensboro 4-5 years ago. I have shrunk, but the belt has not. What is the recommended method of shortening the Fat Boy belt? It is really thick and probably hard to cut. I figured I would like to shorten the belt by 2-3 inches in length, and then punch a couple of new holes.
Thanks.
