So my son is 9 years old (10 in Dec). He has taken a great interest in firearms and quickly becoming a good shot. He takes firearm safety seriously and wants to learn more about guns as well as trying hunting. I haven't hunted since I was in my early teens with my grandfather. So a lot of this stuff is new to me. I have decided that I will take him this year. I have my Hunters Safety course scheduled next week as required to get my hunting license. I read that he won't need one due to being under 16. I does wish to take the safety course and I signed him up with me as I read there is no minimum age limit and I think he will pass the test fine. We found sample questions online and he aced most of them. So my question is about bag and possesion limits. I plan to take him out to get rabbits and squirrels first. If he does will with that, we will try deer next as well as attempt to get a coyote or two. So with him not needing a license, being with me having mine.....will we be limited by my limits? I think I read 5 rabbits per day. So would it be illegal to get 10 since there are two of us? Just using that as an example. I picked up a 207/2018 hunting booklet to read up on seasons and laws.....a bit overwhelming. Never knew there were so many restrictions.
