Reacher - Amazon Prime - February 4th 2022

This guy looks much more like the way Jack Reacher was described in the books. This actor was a good character in Titans on HBO, should do a good job with this role too.

Tiny Tom Cruise did a good job with the current movies but anyone actually familiar with the books found the casting of him as Jack Reacher a miss. I am sure he was cast to give the movie broader appeal but for real fans of the book series it was a letdown.

Reachers philosophy, Get your retaliation in first.

I think he will do good. He's 6'2", not Reachers 6'5" but as compared to Hollywood people he'll look huge.

Something else he was in that was pretty funny, and he wrote, Dark Web, Cicada 3301 on HULU.

That and his character in The Wedding Ringer

Looking forward to this since, as said above, he looks a lot closer to the Reacher in the books than Cruise ever could. Plus, I really like the book this movie is based off of

Dude seems to have his shirt off a lot. Kinda like John Cena in Peace Maker. My wife said she wouldnt watch it. Does that mean anything?

If I looked like that dude, the shirt would come off at every opportunity and whenever the weather heats up about 32 degrees.
 
I’m seeing 8 episodes available today. Might watch some this evening.
 
He definitely is NOT Thad! Aside from the stupid subsonic thing GOML mentioned above it does show a little promise.

Guess it depends how much powder is in it. You know, loads that are super slow and light are where it’s at. That’s how you can bat them away a they come toward you.

The Reacher novels are absolutely horrible when it comes to gun accuracy.

Crap like a beretta is more powerful than a Glock both in 9mm.

I wish I had a hair for every hair I wanted to pull out reading them.

Still enjoyable stories about a guy who just doesn’t GAF and will head butt you first.

Lee Child’s is a Brit.
They are not known for having the same appetites for guns as us.

Yeah, I read the very first one. And as soon as I came across him getting a Desert Eagle, my eyes rolled hard.

I never made it past that one book. I did however enjoy the first Reacher movie... the second one sucked.

But I'm looking forward to this series.

Horrible gun references, condescending attitudes, the laughable “MP’s are more badass than SF guys” back story, liberal slant and woke racial stuff aside, there is something really satisfying about a monster dude that strikes first and doesn’t care.

I have met security at Walmart more competent and hard than most MP’s..

In episode 1-
The DA is trying to interrogate Reacher, and Reacher gives him some clues- “95 grain 9mm, that’s subsonic.”
Umm, no..
95 grain is very light for a 9mm…
Solid copper is like 85 grain, and very hot!
147 grain is standard subsonic for 9mm, but I am a huge suppressor dork…
Apparently Alec Baldwin is the weapons expert for this series.
The fight scenes are pretty good, reminiscent of the Bourne series.
The main actor is good. I buy him as an ex .Mil bada$$. He is clearly on juice and spends 2-3 hours a day in the gym, but so what?
The female cop is hot. I sincerely hope that Reacher gets to give her a Reacheround by the end of the series.

Honestly I would say most of the novels are horrible. They aren’t that well written, they’re filled with mistakes and inconsistencies, far fetched doesn’t even begin to cover it. But still. I love the character.

Just started watching tonight. They are doing a great job so far. Lead actor has the character nailed.

About to finish episode 2.
There is zero chance that Roscoe and Reacher spend a night alone in a motel room and he does not 3 hole qualify her, zero chance.
