So after reading a ton on the 10/22 takedown having POI shifts with scopes mounted on the top of the receiver. Most people either just live with it or use something like the Magpul red dot mount on the barrel end of the takedown. So you either sacrifice magnification for accuracy or the other way around.
So I had an idea. I've got a Leupold Scout scope, 1.5-4x. I have the backpacker stock and the Magpul front optic mount. I started researching scout mounts. I found the ADM and still think it'd be best, but it's $150. DNZ makes a decent one for half the price. Even better, I found the DNZ mount used on AR15.com for $44 shipped. Boom. So I tried it tonight. Pretty happy with the outcome. Eye relief is awesome. You just have to hold your cheek weld a bit higher. Only one of the mount clamps fits the Magpul adapter, but the other gives a partial clamp.
