The P365 XL looks like it fits most/all criteria for a great carry/all around gun. Reliable, shootable, thin/compact, decent sight radius, night sights, 3 finger grip, good trigger, textured grip, low bore axis, and one of the best size/capacity ratio today with a 12+1 flush-fitting mag.

Lucky Gunner does a good video on it, was wondering what everything’s thoughts on it are. Size comparison with 43 + 19276BC4E6-E682-4660-A1C0-79D664EDF765.pngDB3F7A66-2B9B-439D-9795-38B5E80D022A.png4F9459B8-7119-4C2D-B554-D05F00083B54.png

I've got one sitting in Fedex Charlotte awaiting delivery to Salisbury. Will let you know later how it compares to my Walther PPS.

I really like mine. I have both the 365, 2 of them and the XL. My daughter "borrowed" one of my 365s. Shoots very well for me too.

I carry my XL every day and shoot it most weekends.
I used to shoot it more but, I'll almost always unload my spare mag (fmj) when I'm at "the farm".
I have yet to (knocking on wood) have a FTF.
I have, accidentally squeezed the mag release (due to a bad grip while shooting for time)
I had that issue taken care of and now that can't happen again.

I highly recommend the P365XL

I've got one of these on the way. I think that they are worth a look. $590 w/ tax, shipping and transfer fee. I'm putting a Holosun on mine and a Hyve +3 mag extension.

I went ahead and ordered one from Sportsman’s Warehouse ($619 out the door), be in store January 5th. I’m praying the order isn’t cancelled as I’ve heard can happen occasionally.

My Henry Holsters Flint Compact fits both the 365 + the XL so I won’t need any extras when I pick it up. Can’t sing the praises for this holster enough, much more than just a blue-gun mold. I mostly carry with the 12-rd mag so no difference at all in terms of printing.

Built-in wedge and a claw which push the gun into your body from 2 different axis. The soft loops are more secure than a clip, tuckable + allow for a wider range of motion making it may more comfortable. Best part, $75 shipped with same/next day shipping.

I’ve been EDCing it and wearing it the entire day, I barely know it’s there even when sitting, driving, etc. It conceals so well with the wedge + wing combo. You can pull your shirt taut and still no printingA22AD060-155C-4D32-B8F3-462502295226.jpeg642B2324-FA55-4DE1-BBA2-FA7F3135B87B.jpeg

Nice, I have decided on the Vedder light tuck w/claw for most of my carry guns.

Are you able to draw without your knuckles/hand dragging on your belt with your Lighttuck? I’ve had 6 Lighttucks for different guns and they all did it on the highest ride-height, main reason I switched. I just could never get a good grip when trying to draw

The trigger is atrocious IMO. But I’m sure that’s an easy fix. My girlfriend has one, we bought a spring kit. Gonna install that and start there. Other than that, it’s a Sig. it’s reliable. Not a single issue.

I like the XL version. I’m considering trading my G43 for the XL version. I added 3+ mag extensions to my G43 mags to help the grip length; the added capacity was a fringe benefit IMO.

I’d go for it. While single stacks are awesome guns, they’re just kinda dwarfed by the new “1 and 1/2 stack” guns today.

The title is ehh but Hop from TFB TV goes into it

I have not had an issue as that with my Vedders. I too have mine set up for the highest level and a slight forward cant. Other holsters I have used have caught my middle knuckle and I went with Vedder. My fingers are fairly slim too, if that may make a difference in the draw. I have carried appendix and at the 4 o'clock position. As far as the trigger in a ladder post, I did install flat triggers in both of my 365s for continuity with the XL.

I like mine. :D It shoots well, and has been a comfortable pocket carry gun for the past month or so. I still need to get a proper IWB holster for it. I just haven't yet due to finances and the fact that it's so good as a pocket gun that's been a low priority to me.

Might as well go with the Glock 19. It's slightly larger, but you get 3 more rounds, it has a larger aftermarket, and OEM 33 round magazines. ;)

No, I'm not biased, why do you ask? But in all seriousness, I'm weary of Sig handguns.

I was super weary as well but all my Sig’s have treated me well. It’s anecdotal but I’ve had a 226, 238/938, a 365, and a soon to be 365 XL, not a single issue with each. I understand where the weariness is completely warranted. The P320 misfires, the Sig Cross accidental discharges, etc.

Again, just anecdotal but the gun that gave me the most issues was my Glock 26 Gen 4. Brand new 150 rounds in, the recoil spring itself broke and folded over onto the assembly. They sent me a new one thankfully. Next range trip, my rear sight falls off 250 rounds in (stock plastic Glock sight from factory, I didn’t modify the sight). Called again and they sent me a new set of sights as well.

Not the reason I sold it, shit happens but it definitely gave me a scare. I was thinking what if I actually needed to use it defensively and my spring decided to break or my rear sight fell off, shook me up

Yeah, no doubt, Glock ain't perfect either. I have several 19s that still punch my forehead with brass every time I fire them.

Even with owning Sig, I’m still not 100% comfortable with their firearms as a whole but the ones I have and use, I’m comfortable with specifically if that makes sense. Like MY Sig’s have been good, not the case for all Sig’s

I would also add a Hellcat to the comparison. The one that I shot was very nice.

^^^This. Many have been clear about what an amazing shooter it is. Using the customer for QC, the 320's drop firing (or worse, going off in a holster) and Sig denying it until caught on security video. Then the fix for self fire was to make a trigger from lighter plastic. I'd read the fire control group in the 365 is the same as the 320, if so I dont want to wear it.
My Glocks have been stupid reliable for ~30 years. I recently picked up a HellCat for a pocket rocket and am impressed. It fits me great, the npa is spot on, and the upper striker and lock pin look to be the same design as a Glock. Meaning the striker is not preloaded, and it's locked in place until the trigger is pulled.

I had an XL for about a month. I loved it great shooting gun and disappeared in a vedder light tuck. 3 weeks of carrying the finish started coming off. Sig told me it was an issue with my maintenance schedule and that I should reoil every metal surface EVERY time I carry the gun and refused to refinish the firearm unless I paid for it. So I got rid of the sig and I carry a glock now. I only carry a few days a week and the gun was oiled prior to being put into my carry rotation. I generally clean guns every quarter, this is the first gun I've ever owned with finish issues aside from an 870. If you like it keep an eye on the finish and budget for a cerakote job. Like others have said every brand has issues. Just in my experience sig refuses to admit they have issues. I delt with sig CS a few years back on another gun and they had a similar response. Goodluck with your new gun hope you don't get a lemon like I had.

I never was a big Sig fan. Then @Jeppo showed up here with a gun smaller in every demension than the 2 G43s I was carrying and held as many as the 2 G43s combined. All that was left to do for me was to determine if it was reliable. I now carry 365SASs, @RS has decided on the standard 365. An X wife of mine showed up here last week with two 365 SASs for herself and her son....if she had listened that well 30 years ago...wellllll That's another story....My closest shooting Pard @Etruett ,a died in the wool revolver man, has been converted to a 365.
I guess old @Jeppo was ahead of the curve on the 365, maybe he's figured a way to get a kick back from Sigdom. I sold @Jeppo an SAS top end for his and as far as I know he is still using it. He carries on alot about his Lack of shooting ability But when he's here shooting that 365 he is absolutely deadly inside 10 yards. You know.....where things really happen.
Inside the Gates I carry two 938s but Outside ...Ima 365 sorta fella.

A friend drove over here after picking up his new P365. As far as I know, he’d never shot one before. What I saw him do from about 17 yards was quite impressive.

Good lord... I’ll keep an eye out, definitely. I EDC a 365 so let’s pray this doesn’t start happening

Sig P365s are very new shooter friendly to most people. A friend of mine purchased her Sig P365 in Aug of this year. Never shot a gun in her life.
After 5 range sessions and 675 rounds through the gun, her Sig has Zero failures of any kind... None....
No failure to feed, No failure to fire, No failure to extract. Very shooter friendly...
She can now clean the plate rack at 10 yards pretty much every time she runs it. She describes it as " easy to sight and shoot ".

If you haven't seen anything more than likely you are okay. They are known to have a thin finish. Idk if you have Facebook but there is a 365 owners group about twice a week someone is complaining about the finish on their gun. I found this group after having issues with my 365XL.

I had the same problem with a G43 but not a G26 carried in the same fashion, same weather, and guns were made in the same timeframe. Recently had the 43 Ckoted.

FWIW.

John, did the gun ever have a working malfunction?

I know this is a Sig thread, but since Glocks came up, been carrying a G43 for four years, every day. It is carried OWB, not IWB. Some muzzle wear, but that’s all.

Probably shot a dozen BUG matches with it as well so it is in and out of the holster. Comes out of the carry holster and into a pocket holster to sit on the nightstand every night. Then back into the carry holster in the morning.

I've had my P365 for a little over a year. Over 1000 rounds of my reloads with a mixture of weights and bullet designs. 90% coated lead. Never missed a beat. Only time its been broken down and cleaned was when I tried a SAS Slide. Been in a leather holster since day one and the finish looks like new. I never coat it with oil. I will wipe it down with a rag every now and then but not every time I shoot it which is several times a week.

I've had the P365 for about a year, and the 365XL for a few months. I spent a week at Gunsite Academy in Arizona in early November with the 365XL. Shot about 1,000 rounds throughout the week. Did not have a single problem with the gun, other than a few misfeeds which were clearly attributable to the magazines being filtlhy after multiple emergency reload drills (dropping the mags in fine sand) without any kind of cleaning. Outside of that class, I haven't had a single problem with either gun, ever, despite shooting hundreds of rounds of cheap steel cased ammo.

The only thing I don't love about these guns are the inherent limitations of small pistols - they are snappier and not quite as easy to hold really firmly as a full framed pistol. That's the tradeoff you have to make for something that has less mass and is therefore easier to conceal.

I think they are truly outstanding guns, probably the closest thing to a "perfect" concealed carry gun that exists right now. I like Glocks also, but for concealability + ammo capacity, neither the G26 or G43 can really compete with the P365 or P365XL.

I should have mentioned in my G43 post above that I owned a P365 when they came out midway through my romance with my G43. The skinny grip is actually just too skinny for my 2xl hands.

...and I bought it from him - the grip is perfect in my small hands, it's my favorite thing about it. And it's still running fine. If your hands are other than average size, you gotta handle the gun before you buy one.

I just got one a few months ago and I love it. I carried a Glock 43 for a while. Not only does it have the higher capacity but I can shoot tight shot groups at 20-25 meters no problem
