Never met him, but I've read enough posts by him to make me wish I had reason to. I currently only have one 1911 pattern, and it's probably not one that 1911 loyalists approve of. That could be in part from absorbing the wisdom of words displayed on screen. I've come to understand, I'm a 1911 enthusiast for historical and aestheic value only.

But just from reading John's wealth of knowledge, it's inspiring to see someone give out a lifetime's worth of experience freely to folks who seek it.

Seem like a real gem of a human, among the many that frequent this forum that I may never have the honor of meeting.

There was a thread, and someone was arguing with him (was that you @Booger?), and I posted “Tuner, you have a lot of patience” and he replied, “It’s tough sometimes”.

I don’t own a 1911 and never will but I admire someone who has a great deal of knowledge, on a subject, and shares it freely.

It very well could have been. I've openly admitted it, I was kind of a jerk because at the time I confused his knowledge with conceit. But over the years I read what he posted, considered it, and then witnessed it personally. When I reached out to him for help, he was a gentleman regardless and I had an amazing time meeting with him as he trouble shot my 1911. Within the first 5 minutes of him messing with it he took the slide off in a way I didn't know was possible and I uttered the words "It can do that?"

He is what he is. People like him or they dont. Though I am sure he and his pups dont really care.

I couldn't help but literally lol at this. I had a double stack 10mm RIA that wouldn't run one mag without jamming. I just sold it.

With that said. I have never once had to take a glock to someone to get ot to run.
