Terminal list

Power watched it the day it came out. Stuck at home cause the wife had covid, so it kept me entertained.
It gets better as it goes along.
Has a couple of twists. I could have done without the last twist. Otherwise, generally well done.
True, but the Hollywood Cliche has to keep living just as someone dies in every Nicholas Spark novel/movie.
Then there is what my wife I and call "The Stephen King Ending." That sort of Gotcha the ruins what seems to be flowing to a good end.

Wife is watching now. She’s on the last episode so actually I have seen it twice.
I’m about to watch it again. It was great. The last episode twist was a bummer tho

I don't get all the hate about the ending. I saw it coming in ep 5 or 6
when the Admiral said "that's a question for Langley"

Parks and Rec you mean!
Thanks for the correction. I don’t watch either but knew I saw him in one of those lame shows. The final scene I thought came from nowhere. First thought was how did he get on the sail boat? Next was where did he get the idea his friend was part of the mission to eliminate the team?

It would be best to post this in a spoiler tag or not post it in this thread. I just finished it last night so no big deal for me.

Imagine the type of person who is a professional movie reviewer.

First requirement: you have to be an absolute emasculated pussy.

Yet, ironically, a job which I would love to have. I do not understand critics of any 'art', the standards are arbitrary and subjective and based on the critic's ego. I would love to be paid to watch movies and write about them.

Yeah me too!

I could have done without the last twist
I loved the series as a throwback to good ol toxic masculinity. I could have done without this 'twist', not because of who/what it was, but because it became pretty obvious what was coming mid-series.

Yeah agree.
I also have a hard time buying Taylor Kitsch as a bad guy. Too likable to me. Loved that John Carter movie.

He’s a seal bro. He swam there. And he realized when he did his recon he left one company off the list that the reporter uncovered.

Lame?

Parks & Rec is one of the funniest shows ever made!!!

I just binged it with my wife between 4 and midnight yesterday. That was good TV. Hopefully, Amazon and Hollywierd notice. More please.

The woke shyte is getting old. And they are feeling it. Netflix sent out a memo saying if you work here and don’t agree with some of our content, you should probably find a new job. Disney is feeling it too. Movies are bombing in the theaters.

I'm just surprised it was a twist for so many of you. You could plainly see it coming in several spots. I thought the show was excellent. I guess ther must me more to come.

Man, I didn’t see it coming. But I don’t pay real close attention to these things. Cold turn of events, lol.

Overall I enjoyed it. Fairly savage. Thought Pratt did alright. Appears to have worked a bit on some challenging gun manipulations and what have you. A bit dramatic. But decent series.

I've dropped both Disney and Netflix in the past 6 months.
Not having that crap pushed into my house when I'm the one paying for something.
Entertain me or go down the road.

Started watching it this week. I'm liking it. On episode 5 now.
I think I dated that oriental reporter gal in a dream once.

I read an article about a former SEAL training him, both weps/tactics, and physical conditioning.

I didn't see the twist coming, either.

Six episodes down…

Ended up watching the last two as well. Enjoyed the show. Might need to buy the books.
I have read all the books and they are great. The Terminal list book and TV show are 80% same story. The 20% missing is compression of time and locations. As in Afghanistan vs Syera, Nothing bad.

Get the books, I like the audio books too for driving to and from work

Started it last night and we watched the first two episodes. Really don’t get what all the fuss up thread was about the first two, I thought they were excellent and if it only gets better from there, I can’t wait to see the rest. I’ve also been a fan of the books for awhile so I understood what was going on, and with the exception of a few small things, it’s really close.

Really like the details that went into the weapons and gear selection, and if you’ve read the books you’ll know that Jack Carr is very detailed. I spotted a Hill People Gear pack and Chest rig and noticed Rugged Micro 30 cans on the rifles in the first episode and a Obsidian 45 on the pistol in E.2.

Pratt is a SEALophile from his days working on Zero Dark Thirty, and Carr being a former SEAL, they had some good technical advisors and were picky about some of the gear.

There was indeed some great product placement on the show. Now I want some Hooten Young whiskey.

Some 'behind the scenes' and 'making of'. I've not read the book, but they explain some on why they deviated here and there and why they did some of the things they did. FYI, Jack Carr has a podcast on YT for each episode in the series.

CIA guy talked about retiring to this little island off Peru where the waves were big. The money for the shell company was routed through Peru. Seal swam to the boat while it was anchored and the CIA guy was surfing.
