6 episodes
Premiers Friday 3/19/21

Timeline is after Avengers: Endgame. Feige says 6 hours to tell the story, so I’m assuming the episodes will be about an hour...but may fluctuate a little. (WandaVision split its 6 hours into 9 episodes).

Would be about the same time per episode since they are both 1 season only shows

6 hours per series. 6 episodes in one, 9 in the other. Math says they won’t be the same per episode. 🤓

I’m just passing along what Feige said:

“Six hours is what we landed on as the best way to tell our story,” he added. “Six hours, whether it’s six episodes, or nine shorter episodes like WandaVision. The shows aren’t inexpensive, so the per-episode cost is very high and to get that bar I was talking about,” added the Marvel boss.

Im eagerly awaiting the arrival of this.
Let's hope the don't waste the first two episodes ala wandavision.

So close...

Anybody watched it? I’m assuming it’s gonna be a lot more like a typical Marvel movie than how WV started out.

Wife has gone out to eat with a friend so we’ll be watching it later this evening.

watching now
the intro fight beats the socks off most hollywood movies

I find it really hard to get excited about that human sleeping pill who plays Falcon.

He's barely tolerable as a side character in the MCU and he ruined Altered Carbon season 2. He's a hole in space, blander than a glass of skimmed milk and less entertaining than drying paint.

I canned Disney+ after their last SJW bs, so y’all will have to give ep recaps 🤣🤣

Watched it today and enjoyed it
Don't know where it's going from here but I'm along for the ride

How about y’all start a thread on Altered Carbon so we can talk about F&WS? 🤔

I’ll be glad to move all these posts into it if you’d like...
lol, sorry. I'll create one.

One of the things that I liked about WV is that it showed that being a hero is taking an emotional/psychological toll on the characters.

F&WS looks like it will continue down that path, especially with Bucky. I like the list he has of people he owes payback to, which includes the name of the old man's son. It is similar to the list that Steve Rogers had of things to learn in order to re-integrate into society. I wish I knew the MCU well enough to recognize other names on the list. His apartment indicates he still lives like he is on a mission as opposed to having a home.

I also like that even when he is on a date, he still ends up "playing war" in the form of Battleship. And the reminder that he is chronologically old, but because of his background he does not have the wisdom that comes from living that long.

ferrisfan nailing it.

I like that they're fleshing out his backstory. It's been kept pretty sparse, much like his apartment. The joke about his age was a good laugh, but it's off by a couple years. Unless we're expecting this to take place a couple years into the future. marvel is pretty good about chronology now, so maybe they're just doing their best to fit it to a minor flub in the past.

Yes it's five years into the future because of the blip.

I'm thinking the old mans son wasn't a target but just an inconvenient witness which makes it more tragic.

Yes you are correct about the old man's son dont wanna give spoilers but that's what was showed in buckys nightmare.

Buckys age is correct. He was born in 1917. Infinity war took place 2018 in which he was blipped, Endgame took place 2023, in which he returned. And this show is about 6 months after endgame

I’m curious as to why they brought up Bucky’s sister. Generally speaking any time a family member has been brought up they play a pivotal role, but Rebecca Barnes doesn’t really do anything in the comics.

I didn't catch this so I'll rematch it now

Maybe she has something to do with one of the names on the list?

The entertainment news did a smart - they looked at the credits to see who the new "captain" is. Turns out the character's name is John Walker, AKA USAgent.
And the reason his face is so punchable is because he is the son of kurt russel and goldie hawn. looks like he got the worst features of both.
Apparently all this information has been out for months already, and we just didn't go look it up :)

Yeah, he looked like Popeye's long lost son.

My two thoughts after the second episode:

1. this show is hilarious
2. they’ve successfully made John Walker one of the most unlikeable characters ever

Really? I'm not hating him. Seems like he paid his dues to get there.

Now I've heard that he was a little too easy about killing in the comics.

Has a lot to do with the punchable face. 🤣

I mean in the show he is literally the only one who pulls out a gun in the super soldier fight, so they might be setting him up to be a bit more killy in the show as well.

Well since he's not super... I'd use a gun too and I'm a he man!
