Well,, it's better than nothing.

I personally would not practice shooting at no-shoot (white) targets all the time. That's just me though.

I understand your point. But I think it's really important to identify a target before you shoot. Plus I'm made them,, didn't have and cardboard:cool:

They sell the brown cardboard IDPA (USPSA, too) targets at FG&G, or you can buy them by the boxload like I do at Midway, Target Barn, etc. Looks like Target Barn is cheaper than what I paid at Midway. Just be sure to calculate shipping if you buy a box of 100, because it's about $20 more.

True, but who only shoots IDPA? (I am 100% behind cover waist down and >50% waist up already, quickly moving to 100%)
Me, every Saturday.

Me, too. But not every Saturday, just when I shoot competition. I have no interest in 2-gun or 3-gun or any rifle competition.

Are we missing something by not shooting USPSA, except for really long days and sore legs and feet? I'm 64, and @fieldgrade is ageless.

I got the brown one at FGG,, I made the scaled down versions:D

Me! Would love to try this USPSA thing I keep hearing about, but it's not gonna happen when the nearest one is 3 hours round trip. You guys need to start something down in Fayetteville! ;)

the nearest one is 3 hours round trip.

That is probably the best accurate averages of most people shooting USPSA. Some folks drive 4 - 6 hrs round trip for the matches in this State and neighboring. The level and quality are on average the best the sport has to offer.

Round trips monthly:

First weekends: 5 hours
Second weekends : 2 hours
Third weekends : 3 hours
Fourth weekends : 1.5 hours
Fifth weekends are BUG matches at H20: 2 hours

How's the Silver Bullet on mileage so far?
I'm getting about 27mpg on the Blue Bandit

Looks good. I think Benstoeger proshop actually has IDPA scaled targets too, not that it matters a whole lot unless see better than I do, I have to intuit scoring zones.

Work transitions hard, most people lose tons of time there over the course of a match. Don't cheat your sight picture, it is very easy to do in dryfire.

Fair enough. Guess I'm spoiled, cause there are several venues I drive to that are an hour away. Just none of them are USPSA.

I can see you shooting USPSA and having a large time. You shoot fast and got dem young laigs. :D

I've just started and I'm not real good so I'm going to the closest thing to me. I started at H20 because it's 15 minutes from home. If USPSA would have been near by,,, I would have started there. I'm just glad to be competing.

Thats what I did. An IDPA club is 15 min from the house. Just doesn't trip my trigger no more

I started with 2-gun and an outlaw match.
Only two IDPA matches in my 2 hour radius and they're seasonal, probably try it someday. 5 USPSA outdoor matches within my limit all year round. I'm jealous of anyone with a match less than an hour out.

I saw them yesterday on Amazon

We gots a little more shade for Saturday since it will be 91 in Dunn. In addition to the big one that's about three times that size that's already up.

There used to be a good match in Wagram. I think I shot their last match ever, then they just kind of faded away.

I jumped on the NC section website a month ago and found that one. Planned on trying it out before I figured out they weren't running any longer! I even called The Range Complex and asked if they did pistol comps. They said they'd like to do USPSA, and the guy even asked me (they have no idea who I am) if I'd be interested in running one, lol.

You’re the man! My dad rented a beach house that week. We’ll be with him through Saturday, or I’d be there. Let me know next time, and maybe we can get it together.
