Been craving a good ol’ Shrimp Burger… oh yeah… but I was hungry and started thinking about a grilled mahi-mahi sandwich, then a fried flounder sandwich… and a soft shell crab sandwich and so on. So confused on what place is want to go to now. Guess I’ll have to make my rounds and get one of each!!

What’s your favorite seafood sandwich???

First choice would be fish. Not sure if it qualifies as an actual sandwich, but fried brim on a good hot biscuit is magical! Second would be the shrimp sandwich.

Is the fish biscuit breakfast or dinner? Curious as I like having salmon patties on biscuits for breakfast with pan fried potatoes . Also fish patties on English muffins w a folded egg. Weird?? Maybe?? lol

Flounder sammich at Blue Water Point was heavenly.
Mahi-mahi or grouper sammich at Cape Fear was delicious.
Po-boys of any type in the Little River dives.
But soft shell is my fav..
Used to have them smuggled in from Maryland when I hosted the divers at the Southport Bed & Boathouse.
When the boyz had a productive trip, the spiny lobster and Hogfish will make ya toss the Grouper out to the cats. 😋😸

I’ve eaten them for both and don’t have a preference. Come to think of it, I’ve had them for supper and the next morning for breakfast 😂

If you want to experience real disappointment, get a lobster roll from Lobster Dogs in Denver. It’s 20 bucks and maybe 3 bites. I actually had to check my to go box to make sure there was anything in there because it felt so light.

No sides. No drink. $20.

I’d have to go with some kind of cajun or blackened mahi mahi.
Mahi-mahi is my favorite fish. Love it grilled with blackening seasoning

Soft shell crab is awesome and one of my favorite things to eat.

By accident it became my wife’s favorite. At the time, years ago, she loved crab cakes sandwiches. So we were at Dockside in Wilmington, NC. She was having a good time talking and accidentally orders a soft shell sandwich. I tried to get her attention to help her correct her order as I knew she liked crab cake sandwiches and had never had a soft shell. She gives me a smug eye, as if …so I left it alone. Later the food comes out… the waitress placed down the ol soft shell with the crispy legs hanging out. My wife looks at me in horror and asks… Did I order this.. just before she was able to get that out I said .. YES YOU DID!!!! Tried to tell you!! Nonetheless, she tried it and from that point forward.. her favorite!

On a serious but unhealthy note… my MIL gets a fish sandwich combo from McDonalds… EVERY DAY for lunch. NO lie She swings by the drive-thru, then sits in her car (running with heat or A/C) in the parking lot to eat it and watch people. Has done it so much, I had replace the electric fan on her Pathfinder, as she wore it out running the engine, not moving and the fan constantly running.

I worked for a company based north of Boston two lifetimes ago. We were wooing a large client in Greenville SC where I lived, who wanted to fly to HQ before making a major decision that affected my pocketbook mightily.

So I got to ride in the company private jet with the client. I was 28, and apparently just there to mix scotch and sodas for everybody else, and piss on my necktie. You ever take a leak in a private jet? Less headroom than a new Camaro.

Anyway, a large tray of loabstuh sammiches was on the plane for our return trip. Lobster claw meat on hoagie rolls.

HOT DAMN those were good.

Your back stories are as good or better than your reactions to the food stories!

Lobstuh rolls are delicious! I’ve had my fair share from Legal Seafood in Bahston. So good.

Bravo on pissing on yer neck tie. I think I’ve peed everywhere but there

Blacken grouper sandwich with cajun caesar sauce. But I would eat all of the above in a heartbeat. There are only a few things in the ocean not worth eating. And I wouldn’t even turn down that Micky D sandwich.

Grouper sandwich at Frenchy's in Clearwater FL is hands down the best that I've ever had.

I very rarely eat seafood from restaurants because you never know what you’re really eating. I picked soft shell crab from your list though because that can’t be faked.

A tuna fish sandwich. A straight-up, made-in-the-kitchen mix of tuna and mayo on two sides of bread.

No lettuce or other BS. Tuna, mayo, bread.

Never had a restaurant seafood sandwich that beats it.
There are times that the ol’ tuna fish sandwich hits the spot.

Ever tried a blackened grouper, mahi, or wahoo sandwich? Those can be mind changing.

Reactions: Me.
I picked oyster Po Boy, but I also love a fried catfish sandwich. And a shrimp Po Boy.

But if it counts, my all time favorite is the lobster cheesesteak from Chickie & Pete's!

ok… that lobster cheesesteak sounded good enough, that I looked it up. That’s a sammich for sure! Thought it would be lobster only, but its a cheesesteak topped with lobsta! Surf and turf… Heck yeah! The initial thought reminded me of the shrimp philly that I get at the NC Seafood Festival… fried shrimp with sautéed onions and peppers topped with cheese sauce! So guuud!

Big Oak Drive in, Salter path NC. We have been known to drive from the Raleigh area to the Big Oak just for a shrimp burger lunch.

Also, a little closer to home. Skippers in Apex has a really good Fish sandwich. Probably enough fish on that thing to have two sandwiches.

Big Oak is awesome! I’m with you on the day trips.. we do that quite often, to go to good place to eat.

Blackened snapper sammich from a little dive Tiki Bar in Looe Key, FL.

I love a flounder Po boy or shrimp po boy. Out of the options I picked crab cake sandwich. Although I saw a woman taking a crap in an abandoned parking lot next to the market with tin foil on her head; I still have dreams thinking about that faidleys crab cake in Baltimore. It's a life changing experience.

Id recommend carrying a gun or a large knife if you go make sure to leave before the sun goes down. But wow is it amazing. Adam Richmond said it was the best sandwich in Maryland and one of the best in the south east. I had what he considered the best and in my opinion it's number 2 after faidleys.

New fangled shrimp burger from Provision Company or old school from El's. They are different but both are great
Bingo! Both are great! love El’s! The folks around Morehead City / Beaufort NC like to top the shrimp burgers with ketchup. I ask them to hold the ketchup and replace with cocktail sauce. Ever tried a shrimp burger from The Spot Grill in Beaufort, it’s off 70, just outside of Beaufort… heading towards Harkers Island?

I have eaten a shrimp burger at The Spot Grill once when El's was closed. It was plenty good

We're two for two. I know the place.
