What 450 Bushmaster Heavy Bullet Mould?

I use Starline for my hot 45 Colt loads, and it’s held up extremely well. Just got into 45 Colt at the start of the pandemic, and had one helluva time finding brass. I’ve never found one single piece of Hornady 45 brass, and I’ve searched many gun shows looking for brass.
Call Blue Collar Reloading, they had a couple other calibers

I do not know what type of rifle GOML has, perhaps I missed where he said, but I have an upper for 450 Bushmaster that I have used a little. I load the Hornady jacketed bullet designed for the 450 Bushmaster. I was wondering if I decided to load some cast bullets whether the bare lead would shave off in the gas hole and eventually clog it. The only other gas gun I have that in which I would consider shooting lead bullets is a M1 Carbine. I have not tried them in it yet for fear it might not be too friendly after a bunch of lead bullets. Is shooting lead bullets through a gas gun a legitimate concern or a nonissue?
I bought a bunch of casting molds from a guy that was downsizing(divorce) and part of that group was a 30 carbine mold(110 gn IIRC). He told me he had shot thousands of cast reloads thru his M1 without any issue, IIRC, he didn't load them any hotter than 1700 fps. I loaded some 160 gn 303-30 rounds in 300 blk out cases. I ran them thru my AR, no issue, but when playing around with some dummy rounds to figure out if they would feed, I noticed some light damage from the feed ramps

No, I have not. But your bolt gun concept is very intriguing to me.....It would appear to me that the case capacity has the ability to over perform at top end with some .452 caliber bullets. But it also looks like it will be fairly easy to down load most anything you might run. I have only seen one load with Trail Boss that is under Sub Sonic. But I would imagine you can find SubSonic with several different powders. Top end powders look to be LilGun, WW 296 mostly, with a smattering of AA 9, Enforcer, IMR 4227, and AA 1680. Most all that data with 16 inch barrels. Sonic loads will not a be a problem at all........ SubSonic might have to play with some different things.... Any idea where you would like to start with SubSonic?
Would the large case capacity cause issues with those more compact powders (everything other than Trailboss)? Seems like there would be more air than powder, and that powder could be sitting anywhere in that case. I dont know, that's why I'm asking. :)

I already use Lil'Gun for 300blk subs.

A lot of that also depends on the powder and its characteristics. For years on top of years, in various big bore cartridges, 45/70, various larger capacity 458s and even .500s, I have used IMR 4198 low doses and never had an issue, and always had more air than powder....... I have used TINY doses of Unique in various cartridges, 223, 308 and so forth for subsonic loads, zero issues and I mean tiny nothing loads...... Don't ask me how or why, but no issues........ even give consistent velocities and pressures.................

But, all powders don't behave that way. LilGun "May" be one of those, because I have seen LilGun do strange things. I use LilGun quite a bit, it is THE POWDER for all my Super Short Big Bores, it is the Powder of choice for 7.62X40 that I shoot...... and great in many other areas, but I have seen it do strange things when compressed to much...... LilGun is probably fine in the little 300 BLK for subsonic or reduced velocities....... I could not see it being a problem,

I can answer your question on some powders, but I have not reduced LilGun to those amounts, and or many other powders....... I can say you can do about anything you want with IMR 4198 and most big bores........I have also used reduced loads with Unique, Red Dot, Blue Dot and those sorts of powders without issue.............

I would have to look again at the powders used in 450 Bushmaster, I have no experience with it, but I bet good money it would be easy to work with and reduce to most any level...........

I have experimented with "gallery" loads of those powders in 45-70 and have gotten the little 185 gr collar buttons down to 600fps. Its like a giant air rifle at that point, but it does deliver a giant smack to the targets.

Thanks for the info!

@SINNER had a couple of us over to cast, powdercoat and size boolits. I have some 300g boolits from a Lee mold to try out.
His time and materials are MUCH appreciated. I now know how to cast, coat and resize boolits. It was a pleasure to hang out with @Gnash.Hyena as well.
Now I need dies and a picatinny rail for the Howa.
