what are gas prices making you do?

There are stories about stories, and if you knew them, you could tell us.

That's how your post reads, to me. fyi LOL
Ya, I watched a documentary on it and can't remember which one it was

i got my 1997 ford aspire back on the road this week

1.3 liters pushing an impressive 63 ponies and a stump pulling 74 lb/ft of torque

whachu got?
They must have been some good cars. I know a few people that put over 200k on them.

I usually drive up from Augusta - Charlotte to see family on weekends. Turning this into an every three week or so thing.

Planning on hyper miling at 55-60 the entire trip, and refilling every 40 or so minutes.
Have two jerry cans I've been meaning to fill up for months, gonna put some stabilizer in them an fill them up on base, as civilians can use the gas stations there, now.

I kinda understand hyper miling but have no idea what the frequent refilling is all about.

.

I didn’t take offense to that. I love riding my motorcycle and haven’t met fieldgrade in person, not for the lack of trying. I got that you weren’t “poking the bear”. I also have issues with the “idiots” on the road. You are all good in my book brother!
I'll take bikers, even being idjits over bloody cyclists any day of the week.

Apparently long gas lines in Charlotte, I was told. I don't want to be low on gas getting in or leaving, as I'm expecting people to freak out and have a rush on gas sometime soon.

Not passing that bus I get stuck behind on the way to work

04 Hyundai Elantra manual trans.I only live 8 miles from work.Wifey drives 100 miles a day to/from work.Averaging 28 mpg in her 08 Avalon.

Will only raise the cost of your fill ups, wont 'win' anyone over, sadly.

I realize it won't win people over from the Dark Side, but I don't see how it would raise the cost of my fill ups.

I stopped and topped off yesterday with 3/4 of a tank. Saw diesel for $4.65 and filled up before I got back on the island being pretty sure it’ll be higher when I come back to the mainland Saturday.

Wife started new job yesterday. Been in the works for a month or so but her job now comes with a company gas card so that's nice. Wondering if I can get her to drive my jeep a day a week just to use the company card for that. But this morning left home 10 minutes early for my kids school, so close to the front of the line 10 minutes before they let in and turned the car off. Where as I normally get there right at time back of the line sitting in the road and crawling through the line.

Hyper milers often run at less than 1/2 of a tank to keep the total vehicle weight down. It works OK on the interstates where the gas is less than a mile from the exit.

I think he is implying that putting a sticker on the pump adds $0.05 (or whatever the sticker costs) each time you fill up.

Youre having to purchase the stickers to put on there each time. Every time you put one on there (especially knowing it wont change anyone's mind), youre spending more money...at the pumps.

Bought 15 more gallons yesterday to put in my reserve/rotation. Customer contacted me today and wants his grass cut this weekend. Reserves probably won’t last as long as I want and I’m pretty sure replacing it will cost me more.

you should be factoring the increased replacement cost into what you charge

I drive I-540 to my p/t and try to stay at 75-70 but sometimes I have to go faster. On my way to the FT job I take the streets at 45mph.
Both jobs are close by so I drive 22 when I work from home at the FT night job and 28 total if I go into the office that day.
I don't see how the idiots in the Biden Admin. believe folks who can't afford to fill the car or truck will be able to spend $45K+ for an electric car.

The push towards higher numbers of EVs is nonsense anyway, because absolutely nobody is working towards expanding and upgrading our electrical power generating and distribution systems.

California is an excellent example of what's going to happen. They were already having to deal with rising brown outs because of a power deficit and yet they're pushing very hard to transition to an EV based system of transportation. They have absolutely no room for this.

Right, they can't power the homes, force new homes to have solar panels, folks have portable generators. Just nuts, CA closed four natural gas fired power stations to help the environment. :(

Just driving less. I work from home, so the only time I need to drive is when I get groceries, go get food, go shooting, go to a training course, or meet someone on here to do a trade. So I just try to consolidate trips as much as possible, eat out less, and consider closer options for getting the groceries.

Come on man. They’ll just print more dollars and give a $30,000 tax break.
