Am I doing it right?

Why practice? Just drink what you enjoy. Kinda like guns and calibers. Find the sweet spot and wear it out.
That could end badly and result in a new thread in the reloading or gunsmithing forums!
I don’t usually like Ryes but @SPM brought me a bottle that was really good at the last bbq.
I like me some Woodford Reserve Rye and Smichters Rye. Quite a bit. Lesser Rye's are eeh. Although if you go cheap I actually can drink Dickels. It is better than most Rye's from the $20-$35 range IMO. I haven't gone high end Rye yet.
I’m the same way, don’t care for rye. I think it would be a good candidate for an Old Fashion though. I don’t usually go for the frou-frou stuff though.
I tried an old fashioned once made in one of the oldest bars still in existence in the US. It was their signature drink.
I suffered though half of it and then ordered a glass of whisky. Thank god someone else was buying.
That was the same night one of the guys in the group asked for blue cheese olives in his martini and the bartender said “where do you think you are? Applebee’s?”
He was not amused but I cackled like an idiot.
What are those white things in your glass?

I believe it is called ice. I like it chilled.
Unless someone put something in it when I wasn't looking. Hahaha.
Their Dark Rye is pretty nice.
Really like this dark beer. It’s very light for a stout. Has hints of coffee, bourbon and chocolate. Very smooth.
Happy New Year
120 proof, 9 years old. Not too shabby..........
I’m finishing off a 1/5th of Sailor Jerry’s and some Dr. Pepper.
I have had some of this. It is VERY smooth. You are right. I normally don't like stouts (apologies to @thrillhill , who doesn't really like beer except for stouts), but this is one of the better ones. I am a wuss IPA guy.

Don't mess with me Knob! I am not enamoured of the "flavoured" stuff but, the single barrel straight stuff is the shissel.
Never had the Knob. Guess I should get some. Bought some of this...
Lol, you've had the knob before, don't be coy!

That just sounds friggin delicious
It was pretty good, little on the lights side for a coffee porter but I was a fan.
You're always welcome to come by. It is rare that there is no Knob in the house. Just let me know you are coming, I don't take kindly to unannounced "guests".
There is no way I'd roll up on you or your house. I've seen those pics with that big revolver!
A new long time friend brought this over...
(Disclosure: it was a couple weeks ago.)
It didn't last too long. It was like drinking a bag of apples that kicked yur ass.
Tonight it's back to the old simple standby.....

10 year old Henry McKenna.
Jim Beam rye, Fair Game Apple Brandy, Fireball and orange bitters. Shaken, not stirred.
Finishing off the last of the rhetoric
Had to bring back some cheerwine since they have nine here... It's inconceivable.
Son, if you need Cheerwine, I'll ship it to you. Not my "cupa'", but I have friends and relations who are addicted.
Coffee this morning last night was some Voodoo Ranger IPA 7%, I really like the taste of that Beer.
When in Rome. I have had many Shiners in TX. Used to have a Rep there whose last name was Shiner so it was mandatory.
Same ol same ol, Gentleman Jack on the rocks.
1 Screwdriver....been a tough couple of weeks! Lol.
Give the 9% Imperial Ranger a try. I jostle between the two, depending on how lit I want to be.
To answer the original question, only water, since Jan 2.
I'm giving both my liver and my wallet a break.
