What did you do in the reloading room today?

Emptied media and refilled with 38 special cases. Stared separating 223 and 5.56 cases. Punched holes in the buckets of wheel weights again so the mosquitoes reproduction habitat would disappear.

Finally got around to setting up my lightly used XL650 that I scored on marketplace earlier this year. It’ll be dedicated to 9mm.

My takeaways:
I’m ready for a case feeder
I love Dillon powder measures, so dang consistent!
The powder alarm is great, was able to easily set it sensitive enough for a +1gr variance of tightgroup
I learned that the bullet seater stem flips for RN & FN, nice since I’m loading FN

They're pricey but I can't imagine using my 650 without one now. It's a game changer.
For some reason I was thinking they were like $400+, but they’re $300 msrp w shell plate. I’ll keep an eye out for a used one but will likely end up just ordering a case feeder and super swager for myself for Christmas. 😎

I have the DAA “manual” feeder for now.

I was looking at this too. Midway has them right now for $399. One thing I didn’t know is that Hornady has a rebate going for this whole year where if you buy a case feeder or press they give you 500 rounds of ammo from their list. You do have to pay $14.95 for S&H. I bought a press earlier this year and had no idea so will be doing a rebate for that and keep my eye out for the feeder to go on sale. get myself a 1,000 rounds of 9 and can sell that if I want and easily pay For the feeder with money left over for reloading supplies.
win win.

I was referring to the Dillon case feeder, which is oddly cheaper than the Hornady but they’re not interchangeable either.
I believe that promo is the same one Hornady has been running for years now, 500 free bullets. I took advantage when I bought my LNL AP a few years ago. I have a 3D printed case feeder on it that works quite well. I’ve heard too many stories of the Hornady case feeder being very finicky, so I don’t think I’ll bother with that one personally.

Reloaded a bunch today:
50 rounds of 223 - 24.5 grn of Tac under a Hornady 55 FMJ
50 rounds of 9MM -3.45 grn of Red Dot under RMR 124 plated bullet
That is the most I have reloaded in months - worn out

Also, crawled around looking for all those primers that I have dropped on the floor over the past 5 years 😀

Just filled out the rebate for the press and dies. 12 short weeks and I should have 600 rounds of 9mm.
I will have to look on YouTube and see what the issues are with the feeder. Won’t bother if all I will get is a PITA project.

My Brother had a grand time loading up some .40 s&w, and I helped him crimp, gauge, and pack it up.... he has been having a blast loading lately.

Finally finished loading 1155 rounds of .45ACP. I ordered 1000 255gr from X-treme and they sent 1155. Works for me.

Well Done.....1000 rounds!
I do not worry about the bullet, brass or powder but primers is another story.

Waiting on my package that has 1000 40S&W and 1000 455 acp bullets I got the email that they were shipped last week

I was loading some 9mm Luger when I noticed an unfamiliar headstamp. It looked as if it was some writing from some strange language. I was about to put it in the scrap bucket but took out my magnifying lens to give it a closer look. It turns out it is the Browning trademark. I went ahead and loaded it.

Story? Can not keep hanging on. We learn from others mistakes.
Was loading 223 with Remingtom small Rifle bench rest primers. Went to seat one...kaboom. Took me totally by surprised. I've loaded 150k on this press. This is the first time.

Finished loading up about 600 rounds of 9mm today.

any other damage (underwear damage does not count)
The blast magazine contained it mostly. The plastic rod that sits on the primers and trips the low primer buzzer was melted. A small metal bracket under the small primer disc was bent. Other than that its all good. Kinda remarkable. It was a whole 100 primers.

W O W ! ! Glad you are ok. Thanks for sharing your mishap. Makes for an impressive safety reminder.
