What's your next build?

With several cans now in ATF jail, I’m on the fence between converting my 16” IWI AR to an 11.5”, or more likely just doing a dedicated 11.5” SBR build with billet receiver set and all parts of my choosing as my new go-to.

Not only are the centurion ones accurate and durable, they have a slotted barrel/gas block that makes it line up perfectly.

I have a complete rifle-in-a-box I pieced together for ~$275 but some assembly is required. Going to see how a poly80 lower works out. I ain't out much if it doesn't and I'll learn something.

assemble ..probably DK lower, Aero upper, 20" SS Bull barrel, Tool Craft Bolt group,
Colt Parts (lower), Luth-AR MBA-1 kit

Surprisingly, the ATF moved it from pending research to submitted yesterday, and then approved a Form 1 from February for something else. Hopefully the XM won't take as long as that.
 
Honestly think I might be “AR15’d out” I’ve been sitting on a Aero stripped lower for a couple years now and can’t thing of anything I want to do with it.
 
I need to post newer pictures in the "AR Build" thread with my updated "CAR-15 Tribute."

I could not find triangle handguards that would use a circle retainer on the front but I did find some wooden ones that would do the trick! Since I was going to paint them I had them send me the raw unfinished forend but I hate painting and really such at it so I've started over three times now. Last time looked pretty good but I still wasn't entirely happy so sanded it off again (trying to get it to look like black plastic is tough).

For now it has a set of skinny round grips up front.

1" 22lr AR pistol with a 1913 rail instead of a buffer tube? Dress it up like a nail gun?
 
My no forward assist carbine, got the upper all packed up but can't decide who to send it to for the pin & weld, and upper assembly.
The lower is already done, and just waiting.

Triangle grips on a CAR-15? Are you doing a GAU-5 build?
 
If I ever get off my lazy bum and start gettin parts, my next one is probably goimg to be a 10mm PCC.
Of course, Ive been saying this for a year plus, and will probably say it another year before I actually get around to it 🤦
 
Through my work with 2a bourbon I've gotten to meet some cool people. One of them is nohandedshooter from YouTube. He's a great dude and really cool. I was talking to him about getting a bcm and he suggested a build instead. He's trained with jerry miculek and even beaten him on shotgun stages before. When he talks i listen. Here's his recommendation -

I’m debating on a another 14.5 build. One i have now has a rt-6 Burris scope it. Want another for a Aimpoint duty or eotech xps of some sort. Be either a Ballistic premium stainless fluted or a Ballistic with A2 front sight base. Kinda want to build a A2 front sight version but love the looks of the fluted barrel

I’d definitely recommend John Thomas at Retro Arms Works, amazing workmanship and very fast turnaround.
 
I am currently reconfiguring most of my AR platform guns, with a half a dozen spare complete uppers, just ordered a pile of .22 LR parts. like I need that habit.

He's got good taste in parts. About $1300 for barrel and trigger! :D

Me too. I picked up 4 PSA "blem" lowers a few months back. As an aside, two of the 4 had a MINOR scratch and I couldn't find anything on the other 2.

My last build was a 6.8. Already have a SBR (legit Form 1).
