I seriously doubt it. I would bet that ford is quicker and faster in every way. Those Explorer Sports are AWD and have the 3.5 eco boost and will absolutely haul ass.Oh yeah … I’ll bet that thing craps and gets at least three times faster than the old Ford … recalibration of right foot probably would not be and idea for both of you … even if she was low key.
Simply because the majority of “us” don’t have European taste. Have you seen a lot of French cars? 😂I have spotted 2 of the Alfas in my daily travel. They are Beautiful....I'm watching this thread to see if you get the service you got from the Ford.........In all my years and car buying escapades I have Never understood why Americans can't get "The Look" that the Europeans can. We are on vehicle number 112 now and except for the Corvettes we have owned the really aren't any Styled vehicles. My dream would be a Euro look and American service.
We have no connective body style like for instance an early 1950s Porshe. A 2020 Porsche is recognizable in ancestry. Our closest thing would be a Jeep. The Eyetalian look of the Corvette just looks stolen to me. The simple look of a Land Rover to me is beautiful. Our Explorers we owned were the closest I guess.
That's all I got....That Alpha is beautiful!!!

And the dashboards/instruments in French cars are ridiculous.Citroen....that thing is Fugly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a Renault Clio when I was in Israel in the late '90s that surprised me at how well it ran and handled. And the dashboards/instruments in French cars are ridiculous.
How has that SUV been working out for you?

Sorry for the super late reply to your post, just saw this thread as it was bumped.
That’s surprising, because those Sports are ridiculously quick. It’s prob the weight difference that make the Alfa faster. This AWD Alfa is a bit quicker than the ‘13 Explorer Sport we had for nine years. On paper it does 0 - 60 three tenths of a second quicker than the Explorer and is also faster in the 1/4 mile.
Driving it and comparing it to the Explorer, it feels like it accelerates harder and is much more nimble on the road.
It has eighty less horsepower than the Explorer but is lighter and smaller.

Ask @JeppoThe ST models that have the 3.0L twin turbo engine put out 400 HP and are faster than the older Explorer Sport models.
I figured I'd ask for an update since it has been a whileGreat so far. We really like it.
Not sure. I haven’t tried Eco, Normal or Sport modes yet. Mine stays in Weenie. 😂
