Quit feeling sorry for yourself and develop a plan. Everyone has missed out on something in their lives. Not many of us own original Microsoft stock. I for one, wish I owned just one Mosin even though I had the chance to buy dozens of them at $99; now one would cost me $400+.
Two ideas I have seen on this forum make good sense: 1) Get a variant of your gun in 22lr. 2) Get a variant of your gun in Airsoft. Either of these options would allow you to shoot at a significant discount.
If shooting is a hobby, find another hobby. (Some here might suggest disc golf or first-person video games.) If you are hunting, have you considered learning how to use a bow? Some marksmanship skills are transferable.
Lastly, look for a way to supplement the cost of your current ammo; maybe post videos of how you decided to stretch your ammo dollar. Maybe you could trade crafts you make to people who have ammo and need your product. (If you were closer, I would be asking you for an internship at your new garage. Good luck with it, I hope it does well for you.) Eat one less fast food meal a week and buy ammo with that money. I don't know, there are dozens of ways for one to be able to increase their "ammo ability". You just need to find the one that works for you and work it.
Best wishes and I hope that you will see the tide turn and cheap ammo will once again be common.
