Well you did set the hostel tone in your op, last line. And then clapped back at a Mod Subtly telling you your answer might have been found by reading the forum...

Soooooo.....

How many times do people post threads on, what gun should I buy or what mods should I do or how do I fix my faucet? All these can be answered by reading other threads.

So your point is kinda moot.

Probably, but you know what they say. Opinions & sphincters and such.

This whole topic is quickly approaching the "9 vs 45" level.
BTW, I like them both.
I practice and train with my 1911 in 9mm... (much more enjoyable for a 500rd class)
But carry the .45 for when SHTF.

I'm sure everyone will agree with me 100%

God's gun in god's caliber...1911 45acp
I don't think of jmb as a god just a saint.
Now look I've broken the no smart butt answers in this thread rule
mea culpa mea culpa

Here's this to lower this threads temperature...
I offered it in a BST ad earlier but now I think we need it here.
Your welcome.

I seem to be shooting a lot more rimfire these days. It is obviously cheaper but also helps I had a new rifle I wanted to shoot. I usually will shoot a few hundred .22 and then maybe tops 50 nine or a hundred .38.
I reload so that helps on cost if you have the components to do it.
shoot enough nine to keep from being rusty and have fun with the .22’s. Easier on wallet and still get your bang bang fix.

I suppose there will be lots of tears of anyone in earshot as soon as temps stay in the 50's. I have rifles to zero and or check zero. Handguns to practice with. Slug guns need shooting. Buckshot needs patterning. Last but def not least 22's to plink with for the hell of it. I'd rather shoot it than sell it even tho I could make a small fortune.

If you need it, I'd say get it now. I paid 61 cents per round for 9mm a few months ago. Prices haven't gone down. Every now and then I find some at local gun stores for not too bad prices, sometimes 50 cents a round. (I can't believe I'm happy for 50cpr! LoL.)
I haven't been at this long at all, and my budget tells me if I can have more ammo or not. Glad I got it when I did.

flag on the thread, false start, thread started before friday.

I sleep just fine. I fall asleep counting all the people I have known over the past 10 years that asked me why I NEEDED SOOOOO MUCH ammo. And now ask if I have any to sell.
I’ve had gun shops ask to buy .22 from me! 🤣😂 Uhhhh NO!!!!!

Quit feeling sorry for yourself and develop a plan. Everyone has missed out on something in their lives. Not many of us own original Microsoft stock. I for one, wish I owned just one Mosin even though I had the chance to buy dozens of them at $99; now one would cost me $400+.

Two ideas I have seen on this forum make good sense: 1) Get a variant of your gun in 22lr. 2) Get a variant of your gun in Airsoft. Either of these options would allow you to shoot at a significant discount.

If shooting is a hobby, find another hobby. (Some here might suggest disc golf or first-person video games.) If you are hunting, have you considered learning how to use a bow? Some marksmanship skills are transferable.

Lastly, look for a way to supplement the cost of your current ammo; maybe post videos of how you decided to stretch your ammo dollar. Maybe you could trade crafts you make to people who have ammo and need your product. (If you were closer, I would be asking you for an internship at your new garage. Good luck with it, I hope it does well for you.) Eat one less fast food meal a week and buy ammo with that money. I don't know, there are dozens of ways for one to be able to increase their "ammo ability". You just need to find the one that works for you and work it.

Best wishes and I hope that you will see the tide turn and cheap ammo will once again be common.

Not escalated, just stating a fact. I don't feel like I owe anyone on here anything but I paid my membership. Funny thing is this, I just got a warning about using inappropriate language. Wonder if people leaving smart comments got a warning too? Probably not.

Maybe the rule should be changed to POST STOMPING instead of ad stomping because some of you are on here just for that.

Come on dude. You don't owe anyone, anything. The forum also owes you nothing. It is greatly appreciated that you see the benefit of supporting this place.

Yet giving money doesn't mean you've paid your "dues" as a new member.

You seem to post questions that can basically only be answered with opinion that I have noticed. So when the same question, worded a little different pops up to forum users often. It doesn't take long for the posts to drift as will happen in general subforums on general topics.

You got a hand slap for being a potty mouth in a open forum. Such is life on a site run by real people. This site has a few places where cussing is expected lol. Have at it.

If you with your "supporting member" moniker care to use your privledges to look around, you will see the mods are constantly annoyed and giving hand slaps to us for "post stomping" and sailor language in the open forums.

It's not just you. You aren't special. We do it to everyone. The mods scold everyone.

If you want to feel important and coddled. Go get a liberal arts degree and/or join akfiles...

Hate to beat a dead horse but buy it cheap and stack it deep. When ammo was cheap I’d buy until I was comfortable. Then I’d put it all in ammo cans and stick it in the closet and start over. Do this 4 or 5 times over the course of years and reload and the price of ammo is currently a non issue for me. My gf thought I was crazy when we got a house together and I had to make multiple trips across town to move my ammo. It’s fair to say now she sees the light. We still go shoot a lot and I get to help out people that are not as prepared.

Couldn't be much worse from my experience here in just a short time.

I have no idea how to express this sentiment without sounding snarky, but I am being completely sincere and non-judgemental.

If you are truly that unhappy with your membership here, please let me know and I will refund your fee.

(I doubt anyone is happy with everything that happens on this forum; I definitely have to hold my nose and my mouth over some things. However, as a whole, being with this group is worth every bump-in-the-road one might experience. I can't put my finger on it, but there is a connection here that goes beyond internet forums, love of guns, love of country, or even defending the RTKBA. That connection is worth more than the membership fee at 10x the price. If you decide to give it a chance, you just might find yourself a part of that connection. Either way, my offer stands.)

I like the "cut of your Jib"....

The only two gun shops I know for sure that have kept their prices at standard markups are Carolina Gun Runners and Fuquay Gun and Gold. Both places are fantastic, but I have had a longstanding relationship with Carolina Gun Runners. I would trust several of those guys with my life. They are in the same pinch as the rest of us. They can't get the ammo quickly enough or in large enough quantities either, not due to lack of trying. The ammunitions manufacturers have ramped up production to wartime levels and are working profusely to get the product to market.

I truly believed it that leveled for a bit. It likely will not come down much if at all in the next four years. I look at training and shooting as a perishable skill. So I cannot bring myself to stop shooting. It is like when fuel will go back to $4+ a gallon, I don’t stop driving, I just don’t drive as much.
