My uncle does but he is finicky about who hunts there. He see 15-20 does every time he goes. I’ll probably be going one day to shoot one more before the end of season.Anyone having excess deer they want taken, I'm looking for places to hunt, preferably within an hour of 27041
Got these guys ( #1,6pts #2, 5pts) with the smoke stick about 10 days ago. First one walked up and gave me a nice broadside at about 50 yds. Waited 15 minutes and while walking to it the other guy showed about 40yds out. Ducked behind a tree to reload. Can't believe that he didn't see me with all the fidgeting going on to pour measure stuff ram and cap. He turned broadside too. Both only walked about 20yds and dropped. Long day afterwards. Rifle is Wolf 50 cal. using a .45 sabot 240 JHP over 90 guns pyrodex.

He’s been just a minute too early or a few minutes too late all season. Last night he slipped up and came out into the soybeans with 10 minutes to spare!

Thank you! I got him with an old cheap Wal-Mart Savage Axis in 6.5 Creedmore, shooting Hornady 143g ELD-X. Almost 100 yards away. He was quartering toward me slightly and I tuck it in the back side of his shoulder. Stood up on his back legs and made it about 30 yards before expiring.Nice one!
What caliber you shooting over those beans if you don't mind me asking?
That was exactly how it happened !View attachment 709294
For some reason this is how I picture all that going down
Glad you are ok, hopefully insurance takes care of the damageIf it’s in the freezer, does the weapon really matter?

You're not the only one.I need to find one of those "kill everything" farmer friends.
Lucky you got him first!! Looks like he was dug in pretty good with that AR!!!!378 yards with the PSA 308. Tagged out on bucks now, probably going to stack some does up the last week of the season.

Ouch. That’s an expensive way to do it…If it’s in the freezer, does the weapon really matter?
