If I wanted a long barrel I'd carry a 9mm, I carry a 380 because it's easy to pocket.View attachment 721548View attachment 721549
expansion issues are due to short barrel lengths we tested the ammo inc 90gr out of a Ruger Security 380 (barrel length is 3.42") and had great expansion with it , the Lehigh performs well due to not needing to expand!
which is why I said the Lehigh performs well due to not needing to expand! If I wanted a long barrel I'd carry a 9mm, I carry a 380 because it's easy to pocket.
How much more is it than ball? I don't see much benefit in it for what is almost certainly a significant cost uptick.which is why I said the Lehigh performs well due to not needing to expand!
I can assure you the wound track and penetration from the Lehigh will do much more damage than .380 ballHow much more is it than ball? I don't see much benefit in it for what is almost certainly a significant cost uptick.
I load those in 100 grains also. Maybe I should just stick with it for defense ammo.Ball I’m so cheap I cast my own. They die of lead poisoning more so than wound channel..View attachment 721560
Hey mushrooms fine if they’re hardheaded!I load those in 100 grains also. Maybe I should just stick with it for defense ammo.
What was the depth of penetration with the Ammo Inc 90gr?View attachment 721548View attachment 721549

exactly what i do with my lcp when i carry itBall lol. Hollow point expansion seems to be marginal at best so I'm going for penetration depth and feeding reliability.
This it?Underwood 68gr Lehigh Defender +P. The only "self defense" ammo I'll use in 380. LOTS of independent reviews of it on YouTube. They tear through clothes and penetrate like ball but leave a massive wound track. I'd never trust a 380 to self defense except for using that round
AND, it's on sale, 30% off right now.

Lehigh Defense 380 Auto (ACP) 65gr FTM Handgun Ammo - 20 Rounds - The advanced technology Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic (XD FTM) is changing the way self-defense bullets are perceived. Like the Xtreme Penetrator, the progressive nose geometry allows for deep, straight penetration...www.sportsmans.com

Same, that sale was too good to pass up.This is what I use in my 380. I have shot 100 rounds of it and am confident it will do the job, if required. Also picked up some 90gr and 68gr in 9mm and it has worked in every gun I’ve tested so far
Why do alt the type of rounds in the mag?I use some variation of the high-velocity fluted bullets alternating with ball.
For me in my MP 45 I carry HP's in the gun and then my 2 backup mags have reg ball in themI thought that I was the only one who used ball for EDC - I'll even sneak in ball ammo on my 45 ACPs. Kind of cool to see others land at the same conclusion.

And he always starts with some clothing layers to be more real world.Tools and targets has some extensive ammo tests on 380 in gel.
My concern is alot of ball stuff is im worried I'll get one with a hard primer.Any 380 (or below) that I tote will be loaded with ball. 9mm is my threshold where Gold Dots are used.
