costco bulk bottles from other states are a great deal. if you have somebody who travels a lot, have them bring you a few 1.75L bottles. You may not have high quality, but you'll have quantity.Oops … add 1 year’s supply of each to the list … single malt, bourbon, vodka and tequila. While that will put a huge dent in the cookie jar but it wont go bad much less a waste.

If it’s like my house, it would be un-possible.I'm afraid of what a year's supply of likker would look like in this house.
i keep thinking if the ballon goes up, we’re going to need to take in people, if fir no other reason than you've got to sleep sometime. My wife is pretty awesome about it all. It's just her family I fear showing up the day after the balloon goes up
Increased non-perishable stock over the last few months. Probably up it again JIC. Plenty of ammo and components. Got a 1/4 acre pond and a 21’ above ground pool for emergency water supply, and can run well pump off the generator.
I should probably up the stash of Jim Beam, Jose’, and Fireball, though. A couple cases of airplane bottles would be a good thing!! Barter goods, too, but hopefully we won’t need to do that….
I think I’m gonna start putting away seeds, too…[emoji848]

I just save seeds from my garden harvest and usually only buy heirloom varieties that can be replanted (except for corn...but trying some heirloom varieties of corn also). I store them in a tupperware container until the following year after drying them out on paper plates.Seeds are an excellent thought. I am ignorant. Can I just go grab some at Lowes’s Tractor Supply or whatever and stash them in a cool dry space?
I do tend to think locally. as far as an EMP type event goes, locally we have enough farms to feed our local populace, long term. We have enough stores to survive the short term transition. If we wind up with the people I think we will (hope to) have, post SHTF, we will be well situated to forming a community clinic.I have thought about that with our mountain place. Not a fortress by any means, but we have lots of wood and water. Could do a garden in one area. Lots of elevation and nice rock formations. But I cannot be everywhere at once. 😒

Pretty much. Might be a good idea to pick up “Vegetable Gardening for Dummies”.
I need a copy of it as well. My thumb is about as green as a brick…..

Hope you have enough TP to go along with the diarrhea Just kidding, I actually like canned ravioli. It’s called “eating out” as in “eating out” of a can.Just bought my 175th can of Mini Ravioli.
My buddy has a freeze dryer so we are basically making our own Mountain House without as much sodium. Not a cheap toy but worth it for multi family food preservation. In a vac sealed canning jar, freeze dried meat lasts a lot longer than 10 years

I have wanted to get one of those as well. They are pricey but probably save a lot compared to buying the premade stuff. Is there a preferred brand/model? Good site with recipes and/or how-to's?We're itching to get one. A few of the homesteading YouTube channels we watch have them, and the wife and I both want to get it. Not in the budget yet, but it's coming at some point.
