Folks please go on YT and search for Bob Stasch Interview. Go to about the 8 minute mark and be prepared to be enlightened about real world defensive handgun shooting. This is a listen and learn moment. You will not regret the time spent.
This man has been in 14 gun fights.....used two hands twice and his sights never. The failure to stop he has seen are amazing. First gunfight...guy hit 6 times center mass with a .45 Colt S&W, then 5 times center mass with a .38 S&W, then 4 times with a 44 Magnum S&W. Finally shot him in his knee to stop him. The guy lived 10 days!!!
Spend some time listening to a man who has seen the Elephant!!!!

Dis b it??? Edit...dang it, Mac, beat me to it!

Wow! Only one, one shot stop encounter and he was within inches for that one...

The statement at the 50:45 mark about militarization of the police force is interesting...remember, this is a 2013 interview!

The 51:30 mark talking about how very few of the guns he’s taken off the streets were bought at a gun store...

Great interview...the last 5 minutes on his views of 2A, armed citizens, etc. is worth listening to and then think about where Chicago and Cook Co are in the present day! Obviously, the politicians haven’t listened to his message!

I searched around for the .38 135 grain +P Gold Dots he mentioned for J frames. Seems they’re impossible to find. :(

Everything is impossible to find right now.

That was... educational. Confirms what I always believed - that when sh*t gets real, all the book learning goes out the window: stance, grip, presentation, sights etc. I’m going to practice more point and shoot.

What I do know is that I have 2 eyes and see no reason to not use them. If playing stupid games is your thing, go for it but don't think you've accomplished anything of value.....

thanks for your wisdom oh great one

Wow! Just because you think something is stupid doesn't actually mean it IS. There might be situations in which you can't see well and have to shoot, don't you think?

But what do I know? I'm just an old lady who's new to all this, but I also saw value in learning something new about shooting.

But, for today at least, this is a free country, and you're entitled to express your opinion. I guess that means you can be rude, as well.....congratulations!

OK say for some reason you were sprayed in the eyes with something and your vision is either blurred or gone. This theory proves that point.

You can’t reason with him. If it’s not his idea, he’s gonna bash it no matter what. And he doesn’t like Billy so he’s gonna be negative about anything having to do with him. Notice he didn’t comment on the topic of the actual thread. Just came to shit in this one, which is what he doesn’t more often than not.

And shooting with your eyes closed is the answer?? Carry on.... but stay away from me...

Even though it like teaching a pig to sing...

Understanding your own capabilities and limits so that you are prepared to handle anything thrown at you is the answer.

Another example - what if I can see the target, but not my sights? What range can I reliably hit just from my presentation and no sights? This is very plausible in dark or mixed lighting.

Y'all don't let the poor guy get to you. I really don't know why he is looking at Battery Oaks Alumni except to spew off. I've tried to be decent to the man but he won't have it. Why wouldn't he just block anything about this place or me? The concensus of those who know him is he is a good shotgunner and can't shoot a handgun for shit. The Wizard scares @Bailey Boat to death.
Don't play in to his negativity, it's just Him. He can't help it. I know his family is happiest when he's off chasing birds some where. If spewing negatives was an art he would be Elmer Keith.
