Buffalo, NY mass shooting 10 dead

I'll preface this by saying I don't watch the news on the regular, so I may not have the most up to date info. I've seen a few sources claiming that this guy was known to police already because he had a history of making threats, and had previously threatened to shoot up his school. Also saw that he had a history of killing pets. This guy was sick in the head long before he got to this point, but the police and healthcare system didn't step in and do anything when they had the chance.

I don't blame the gun or the internet. In the end, both of those things are just tools. He used the gun to carry out the killing, and the internet to justify his twisted desire. The blame falls squarely on his shoulders.

According to NY logic, he used a non scary assault rifle that could not possibly do the damage of a scary looking one with an adjustable stock and other scary features like a bayonet locking hub. Looked like an M16A2. The important thing to NY lawmakers is that it doesn't look as scary as the newer style, therefore their legislation meant something. The logic of their legislation is that it would stop assaults like this. One day they'll get it right and pass the right gun control law... they just have to keep trying... and Biden will fly up there with the right answer today.
They already shut down that (unwanted, by them) narrative by spinning it away from the gun and toward scary, so-called 'high capacity magazines' ... as that suits their preferred narrative.

Here's content exemplary of such:
----
"The suspect in the Buffalo supermarket massacre purchased the primary weapon allegedly used in the shooting — a used Bushmaster XM-15 semiautomatic rifle — from a licensed dealer near his hometown but said he then illegally modified the gun so he could use a high-capacity magazine."

That makes the law doubly worthless since he broke another law by modifying it. lol Not to mention the whole murder thing being illegal.

The reason I ask is because I have only shot a human being with a .50 cal and I was curious on the body movement when impacted if that was an AR10 or AR15.

Listening to Glenn Beck talking about the Buffalo shooter. He says that based on what he wrote, he is a Nazi and a fan of the New Green Deal. He is a "traditional environmentalist" who believes the earth is more important than people. He believes that the "unlimited reproductionalists", I.e.: the blacks, will destroy the earth and that's why he went after them. He says the Jews can "be handled later".

This guy is indeed nuts!!!

I believe that the threats were addressed and he was placed into a mental health facility - possibly by law enforcement? There's not much the police can do after that. They don't have the legal authority, training, time or money to "monitor" everyone in their jurisdiction that has made threats or has a history of mental illness or has been violent in the past, etc. There's a hole in our system that allows these people to be free - and exercise their 1st, 2nd and 4th amendment rights. Whenever these things happen, many shout that the "authorities" should have taken away their 4th amendment rights sooner......but when? Allegations from neighbors, classmates, ex-spouses? Anxiety attack? Misdemeanor convictions? It's the proverbial 'slippery slope'.

Something has to be done differently. After every one of these incidents, everyone has different ideas on when to take away one's rights - but then nothing gets done and nothing changes.

In NY, the "assault weapon" law starts with a 'semi-auto rifle able to accept detachable magazines'. Those are the prerequisites. If it's not a semi-auto or if it can't take detachable magazine - the rifle can have all of the 'evil features' including pistol grips, bayo lugs, etc. So it looks like this animal bought a non-detachable magazine AR and made it into a detachable mag again.

Every one of these psychos is the same; in a week they will uncover that he was torturing animals. Then some neighbor will chime in that the whole neighborhood knew about it.

...and round and round we go. Yet somehow it's our fault or a bunch of inanimate objects locked in a safe. Go figure.

Those impacts in the video is what you would expect of .223 on civilians in a supermarket. Fighting guys all high on khat will take a few shots most times, sometimes one right in the center of the face won't get the job done. I can't recall a time where I only shot someone once. No doubt your guys exploded.

The weapon reportedly used (which the video seems to corroborate) was a Bushmaster XM-15. That rifle is chambered for 5.56 NATO. I haven't seen any reports indicating whether he was using .223 REM or 5.56 NATO ... not that it would make much difference with respect to body movement on impact of the round.

I'll leave you to watch the video, yourself, if you need more than that, as re-watching it to look specifically at that goes down a path that's a bit too gruesome for my liking. (No offense, of course -- but the video is already really tough to watch/stomach for those of us who have never fired on a human being. Hell, I'm a hunter with no problem sending one to drop a deer and then field dressing it, but this is no deer we're talking about.)

I hope he is jailed for life and repeatedly raped by groups of angry big black guys.

NY has no death penalty. He belongs in SuperMax for the rest of his life. I hope he lives to 110.

What I saw was a bunch of poor old folk, not a military-age male among them. None of the folks that were murdered would have been the kind to have a weapon. Just like the old idiot that shot up the church 200 miles from his home, these insane fools go to what most consider safe places to kill.
They don’t want a ccw or cop shooting them in the back of the head, or an off base military man taking their gun away and beating them to death.
The folks that need a weapon the most, are usually the ones unlikely to carry one. Too bad the cops that arrived didn’t see fit to send a 3-round burst right through his helmet.
I'm glad they didn't. This will be much worse for him.

They call his three firearms an arsenal and he did not have any assault weapons. :(

Now to that “modification” they keep mentioning.

It was a standard capacity magazine and a regular magazine catch. Two $9 items that there are hundreds of millions of in circulations. These items, whose prohibition is laughed at and mocked publically continuously, are what differentiate a “safe” rifle from an “assault weapon” in New York. Recall that New York went out of their way to try and crush the life and career of a US Soldier over magazines (and those magazines were issued, not purchased), but they could not stop an 18 year old from circumventing the prohibition and acquiring them.
Or from acquiring and installing the normal TDP magazine catch, since that is a legal part as long as you don’t have a *gasp* pistol grip also.

I know not many here care about what NY gun laws are - but for those that are interested, here's just the part about rifles:

"Assault weapon" means

(a) a semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to accept a detachable
magazine and has at least one of the following characteristics
(called "evil features" by the NY 2A world) :

(i) a folding or telescoping stock;

(ii) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of
the weapon;

(iii) a thumbhole stock;

(iv) a second handgrip or a protruding grip that can be held by the
non-trigger hand;

(v) a bayonet mount;

(vi) a flash suppressor, muzzle break, muzzle compensator, or threaded
barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor, muzzle break, or
muzzle compensator;

(vii) a grenade launcher; or

So rifles like an SKS or most Mini-14's are still good-to-go (for now).

The definition goes on to explain shotgun and handgun "assault weapons"......

This 70+ page document was passed in the middle of the night, where the people who voted on it had absolutely no time to even read it. Much of it is extremely confusing to even the District Attorneys' offices, much less your average gun owner.

unSAFE Act violations are often add on charges. They are then dropped or pled down to lesser charges. They don't want anyone convicted for unSAFE Act violations to reduce the chance that it gets ruled as unconstitutional by a higher court.

Note that it only applies to rifles, shotguns, and pistols. "Others" are not affected and are openly sold.

I built a 12" 6.5 Grendel. In a free state, it's an "other". To be safe in NY, I have it on my pistol permit. The mag was "fixed" using a Prince 50 lock

You forgot about the shoulder thing that goes up. ;) This woman has since left the political arena.

Yeah @Button Pusher , she was from my former county. Clueless. As you probably know, her husband was killed and son wounded on the train from NYC by a deranged gunman in 1993. She got the sympathy vote.

Also, @1075tech , Nassau Co. has a 50 oz. limit on pistols.....they were also advised by the NY State Police that they are 'regarding' certain Others as an SBR, but then I heard that the NCPD backed away from that. "Regarding"....you gotta' love that. "Forget about what the law actually says, we'll interpret it our way." (shades of the ATF?) And a 2600 member police department was "officially advised" by the state police - who have almost zero influence and are all but non-existent on Long Island and NYC.

The 50 oz limit was part of the unSAFE Act. It's statewide. It's believed that the intent was to ban AR pistols. Collateral damage also included those such as the Desert Eagle.

The legislation was passed in the middle of the night without the constitutional time period for review. Gov cumho used a "Message of Necessity" to circumvent the state constitution. It was an emergency and the legislation had to be passed right now, to take affect in a year

Yes, remember it very well, I commuted on those trains to my data center job in NYC back in the day. The idiot had a Ruger P89, I own the same pistol. The shooter was another mental case for sure.

Me too, the Babylon line. I was on a footpost in Times Square when a patrol car pulled up and told us about the shooting, we listened to the news on the car radio (no cell phones back then). Not long after that the LIRR let us ride for free, which was huge - $277 a month in today's prices. The flip side was that if you showed your free pass, everyone knew what you did for a living, the conductors would ask you get involved (off-duty) with every drunk loudmouth on the train, and you'd have to give up your seat when your car was full - which was every day.......

And I was right; he was torturing cats. Somebody knew about this and all his problems, they don't want to take responsibility, so it's "gun owners."

Rinse, repeat.

The recent mass shooter in Buffalo, NY had reportedly been coached by a former FBI agent before committing his heinous actions.

Law enforcement sources have informed The Buffalo News that a supposedly retired federal agent was in a chat room with the killer and was given advance notice of what he was planning to do at least 30 minutes beforehand. The former agent never informed authorities.

A law enforcement source said that the former federal agent regularly stoked the accused gunman Payton Gendron with racism, anti-Semitism and other propaganda designed to inflame the deranged man.

“These were like-minded people who used this chat group to talk about their shared interests in racial hatred, replacement theory and hatred of anyone who is Jewish, a person of color or not of European ancestry,” the law enforcement source stated. “What is especially upsetting is that these six people received advanced notice of the Buffalo shooting, about 30 minutes before it happened.

“The FBI has verified that none of these people called law enforcement to warn them about the shooting. The FBI database shows no advance tips from anyone that this shooting was about to happen,” they added.

While it is claimed that this FBI agent was retired, their behavior is consistent with the actions of active FBI agents, who regularly infiltrate extremist cells and provoke them to commit acts of terror.

Big League Politics has reported on how federal agents were influential in promoting the violent events of the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol called an attempted coup or insurrection by critics:

Project Veritas has released video of Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist Matthew Rosenberg admitting that feds were embedded in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot and that the fake news media has lied about the nature of the threat of the infamous election integrity protest.

Rosenberg can be seen on hidden camera speaking candidly about snowflakes who work for the Times. He called the young reporters “f*ckin’ b*tches” for their histrionics in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 rally.

“It’s like January 6th stuff, but it’s like I’m so over it at this point. I’m so over it,” Rosenberg said.

“The left’s overreaction – the left’s reaction to [Jan. 6], in some places, was so over the top. It was like, me and two other colleagues who were there who were outside and we were just having fun,” he continued, adding that the New York Times staff “were not in any danger” during Jan. 6.
Rosenberg also confirmed that there were many federal agents embedded in the crowd when the violence in and around the U.S. Capitol took place on Jan. 6.

“There were a ton of FBI informants among the people who attacked the Capitol… For the CIA and NSA, if you work there, you get polygraphed every year, and you’re asked if you’ve spoken to a reporter and your answer is anything but no, you’re in deep trouble. So I’ve been talking to former people who are talking to people who are still in,” Rosenberg said about how he gathered his intel.

The feds are conducting an agenda that is too sinister for most Americans to be able to fathom. This is just more proof that these spooks do not care in the slightest about keeping Americans safe from bloodshed.
