Caniks

Those are awesome! Just need to dig out my Crockett & Tubbs wardrobe and strap those into a shoulder holster.

I'm digging them.

Amazon Prime recently had the first season on. In HD. It was pretty painful to watch. Those old shows were never intended to be watched in such a manner because of the greatly increased, clarity. That said, other details which were never intended to be visible, are gloriously visible.

I got my first Canik on my birthday in November this year! Went to xtreme gun and pawn in Boone to window shop and they had an Elite Combat in stock for $650, once I had it in hand and felt that trigger I was out the door with it. Love it so far, got a DisDef gen 2 comp when they dropped and last week got a Viper Vortex when it went on sale at Cabelas for $160. Love this thing, the salient additions are a nice touch and for the price this thing punches well above its weight

Curious to know whether you can tell much of a difference in recoil between 115gr and 124gr ball, esp with the barrel extension on. I'm seeing some pretty tempting ammo deals now with 124gr.

In my Rival, all the 124 grain I've tried (Norma, Fiocchi, Magtech) felt slightly softer in terms of perceived recoil than their 115gr counterparts. Enough so that I prefer it and have had my best results with it.

I wonder how much the trigger quality will suffer while shrinking down to Micro 9 status.

Canik announced a micro compact setup at shot show. Mete mc9

Looks to be between a p365 and p365xl in height and length and similar thickness.
We definitely need to talk about thisšŸ˜‚ this was part of an earlier discussion a while back when someone was complaining about the size of the elite sc. I cannot wait to get my hands on the new mc9. If anyone gets one before I do I'd love to know what you think about it. On paper it looks like a viable option but I guess we will see if they live up to the canik reputation. Hopefully they došŸ¤ž

Anyone running a red dot on their elite sc? I'm somewhat leaning towards the 507k x2. Anyone running this setup?
I have an SC that came with, I believe a Shield RDS. Just found another SC, Cammo version. Broke my heart, used in box and unfired... I put a Sig Romeo Zero on it (not an absolute fan of it, but I upgraded another and had it as a spare)

I bought a Canik TP9 Elite Combat... shot it about 250 rounds... and went back to the store and bought his sibling. I have about 3k through the one with the Holosun on it, not a single hiccup from any of them. I have done "What's for Dinner?" on the Combat with about every type of ammo I could find, including steel case and poly bullets. It'll eat anything.

Don't get me wrong, I love CZ's, Sig, 1911, I have a TS2 that double taps with no effort. A cheap SAR truck gun with a typical stock CZ trigger, but it's ported and shoots like a kitten. But in the end, I only have Springfield XD's and Caniks for striker fired.

Just wanted to give a little update that I became aware of today. Went online and found out Vedder is now making Canik holsters. Back when I was looking they didn't have holsters for Canik but I've had two holsters from them back when I had glocks. These were probably the most comfortable kydex holsters I had worn. They allow the gun to sit deeper into your waistband if you carry appendix. I will probably be ordering one for my SC soon to try it out. Hoping they will be adding support for the new MC9 coming out as well. But this is a very good sign. Seeing more and more places making holsters for these guns. Canik isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Buy what ya can before prices go up and they get hard to find! Just my opinion.

Tulster makes the Oath and Profile models for the SC. Iā€™ve got several of the Oath model holsters for other handguns and Iā€™m not sure you can get a better IWB holster at any price. Iā€™ve held off getting one for the SC since Iā€™m waiting to get the MC9 when they are released in March, hoping Tulster has holsters available for it.

So I just gave those a quick glance. I'm not familiar with all the holster manufacturers but to me it looks like the oath model has the grip of the gun sitting too high. I know you need to be able to have access to the grip to get it out quickly but the Vedder holsters are really good about being a deeper riding holster for comfort and less print for appendix carry. It really does make a huge difference.

Iā€™m a big fan of Vedder, when I bought my first a few years ago I thought no backing, probably wonā€™t be that comfortable and end up in my used holster box. I was wrong one of the most comfortable holster I have used in 40 years.

Still no IWB Rival holsters :(

I stand corrected! Muddy River is now making one! They're not the nicest holsters out there, but they are a good value. I have been daily carrying my P365XL in one with the claw for years now without issue.

In my experience Canik is one of the best handguns for the money available. In fact, I'd go as far as to say they are often better than competitors offerings for less money. The only reason I've sold one is to buy the new model. I currently own a Rival and will be buying the steel frame version as well. This time, the polymer version was priced so low, I'm just keeping it as a backup/alternative.

Something else that hasn't been mentioned in here yet is Canik is making an optic! Does it mean it blows away its competition? Not exactly. But from what I've heard they are supposed to be really good and can be had for less than $200 on multiple websites. I've been watching reviews. So far no major negatives or failures. If anyone has purchased one and tried it please let me know. Thinking about pulling the triggeršŸ˜‰ and trying one...

They make two optics I believe. Mecanik MO1 and Mecanik MO2.

The MO1 is a micro optic designed to cowitness with the mete series iron sights. Planning on getting one for my Mete SFX pro and if I like it I'll get a couple more for my mete sf and the mete mc9 when that releases.

The MO2 is larger and marketed as a versatile optic.

Every review I've seen on YouTube they have all said the auto brightness on the MO1 works really well. And several websites have them for $160-$190 depending on where you look. I'm definitely thinking about snagging one. I'll probably put it on my sc for now and if I like it I'll order another one for the mc9 as well. If you get one before I do let me know if you would recommend it!!

Just wanna make an update. With the new MC9 almost here I am about to try some holsters for the SC and sfx from Vedder, Alien Gear, and We The People. Will be posting some updates soon. If anyone has already tried these please feel free to leave a little feedback!

I have a rival and mete sf. I swapped out the trigger shoe and all the springs in the rival and it feels as good as my shadow 2 single action which is pretty insane. Not a big fan of the grip though..I'll probably put both up for sale on here.

Finally got the Rival out yesterday to sight in the 507K-GR dual reticle optic and try it with the brass backstrap. Took some of the muzzle flip out, overall weight/feel is great. Was surprised at how tight I could group out to 15 yds both slow and rapid fire, even if using just the open circle with no dot. Good enough that I don't feel like I need the steel framed version, though I may try a tungsten guide rod at some point.

What donā€™t you like about the grip? Iā€™ve been eyeballing one as a CO gun..Do you like the shadow grip?

im concerned the grip is too small, only thing that kept me from getting one. Thanks for the info
I have both the rival and rival s
If you want one get the rival s. As you can change the grip swell.
Both work perfect for me as I have smaller hands

The RS is fantastic

I haven't yet. Been flip flopping between having the optic or not. Saw a few on GunBroker but they're overpriced.
Call your local gun stores! I heard a few people say in a few forums that some gun stores in Charlotte had them in stock. I was able to pick mine up in a local store..

I get one eventually. I do a lot of business with one particular store in Gastonia and I'm not in a rush. Heck I might find a good deal on GunBroker and just transfer it in to her. One more point on my loyalty card.

Good to see a few other stores have them though.

I would hold out longer on these mc9, been hearing a lot on fb groups that magazine doesn't drop free. Let canik work out the kinks first

Could just be a mag issue. I had an 18 rounders that wouldn't drop free at all in any of my caniks. Something about the body was dragging the magwell. Was wierd possibly a bulge in the mag body.

Whoever buys the TP9 sfx I put up for consignment may solve the mystery since I threw it in with the two 20 rounders that came factory with it.

I have the sfx as well and haven't had a single issue with that. That's weird
