Caniks

All my other mags would drop freely from the sfx. Just that one wouldn't it would pop down but something held it from dropping completely.

Upgraded to a mete sfx pro. Loved the other but it didn't make sense to have both.
Gotcha. I've been looking at upgrading to the pro as well. Not sure if that's exactly which route I want to go but it looks to be the most appealing option. Was it worth the upgrade?

They're really close. Honestly if I wasn't just getting all my canik's to the mete series I probably wouldn't have bothered.

I see a few benefits but I'm almost thinking for what I have in mine and how cheap I was able to get it im thinking about just doing some upgrades to it. Maybe a new trigger and a few other small things if anything. The trigger isn't bad at all I'm very impressed compared to what I've had in the past but I do like the Rival triggers and since I don't plan to carry this gun on my person I think a trigger upgrade would probably make sense for all around use. I'll have to do more research on that and what the best cost effective options are.

My two are both lower end Caniks. One is the TP-9 and the other a C100 (stainless). Both of these are so accurate they make even ME look like a decent shot. I love them. I am wondering, though. Someone said you could do some surgery on Beretta mags and make them run in a Canik. Is this true? If so, there ought to be a crapload of these cheap mags around after the Beretta glut of ex military stuff hitting the market. Any feedback on this?

I did read a rough general comment about that on another forum but never heard it confirmed to be true or how to do it. If I can find where I saw it I'll ask them and do a little research!

I really want the Canik SFx Rival-S. Canik with a metal frame and all features one wants in a match pistol right out of the box? Yes please! :D

Yeah, me too. Not like a need another competition gun. But at 42.7 oz and a great trigger, what's not to like? I'll tell you what. They are going for about $200 over MSRP right now on GB. Is it just because of the demand?

Definitely agreed. Yeah that's why, but folks who pay that above-MSRP price are fools. The Rival-S is available if you look for it and have a little patience. Scalpers gonna scalp.

Here are two GB ads for stores within driving distance for me. Both would be price+tax. Mr. Wests Outpost is auction, over MSRP and an hour to go, FG&G is buy it now. MSRP is $899.99 unless I'm missing something.

If anyone is looking for a Rival S Chrome, I just jumped on one today. BET Armory has them in stock for 998 otd including shipping ($19). MSRP seems to be 949 on the chrome. So all in all not a bad deal seeing as itā€™s practically unobtanium without paying a premium right now. Did a search and BET seems reputable. Called them as well and CS was spot on. I have zero affiliation.

Received an in-stock notification a couple of weeks ago and immediately purchased one in hard chrome - $820 from gunzonedeals.com. A few days later I received a refund and accompanying email stating that my order could not be filled due to the item being out of stock with no eta.

Multiple places appear to be using the same drop shipper on a first come first serve basis instead of standard allocation of units.

I put a canik aluminum flat trigger shoe in my base sfx and added a canik brand magwell as well before I sold it.

That aluminum trigger shoe is really nice for the price. Little bit of a pain to swap the shoes out.

The magwell is a little blocky compared to the mete and elite combat magwells. Still smaller than a Taylor freelance magwell though. It's super easy to install though.

I will definitely look into this! I have no interest in having $400 or $500 in upgrades for this gun I'm not trying to go crazyšŸ˜‚ just looking at some potential options. I think im going to be swapping the optic I have on it to go a different route as well

Chrome and Darkside are both out of stock now. Oh, well. I need to shoot my Sig P320 Legion anywho. They also have a good price on those it seems, and $19.99 shipping. I guess they charge tax?

I have 4 of the 32 round pro mags for my TP9SFX. I have only tried 1 of them and results were not impressive

A little update...
I took one of those misbehaving magazines and left it fully loaded , sitting in a drawer for a month or 3 or 4.
It's been working perfect ever since. I guess the spring just needed to be compressed for awhile , took some of the starch out of it.

I stumbled across this used TP9 Elite SC at a local shop today , it came equipped with the Shield SMS2 optic.

5 shots @ 10yards , standing ,IMG_2095.JPG went into a 2" group & all in the black right out of the box.

I never before that , shot a handgun with an optic.

Somebody had this one dialed in just for me.

Heck yeah!

My range time got pushed back to this coming weekend unfortunately. I've been dying to go out a shoot but unfortunately I don't have my own access to a place to go. I will definitely post an update soon!
No problem. I can never seem to find the time to make it to the range either. Thinking an MC9 might replace either my RDP (which I took to range 1x) or my Mako which I took 3 times. Really like the Mako, just can't get my whole pinky on the 13rounder. If I buy one of these they will finally release that 15rd one for the Kimber. :)

That's usually how it goes lol. I will tell you I have big hands. I can't get my pinky on a lot of small guns but I can easily get my whole hand on the mc9 with the pinky extension which adds very minimal length. It feels very comfortable in hand. Very excited to see how it shoots. Every other Canik gun I've shot felt awesome!

So first 150 rds shot today on the new Canik MC9. I've been reading there are some people having issues with failure to feed. I tried to do as much research as possible to see what I could do to prevent this if I could and "break the gun in." So let me walk you through what I did. When I first received the gun I locked the slide open for about a week as well as loaded the mags and let them sit for a week too. Next I put a little lubrication on the wear points that the slide moves on. I then racked the slide at home well over a hundred times. I went to the range and shot 12 rds of 124gr federal hst rounds. Had a failure to feed on round #2 and failure to feed on round #7. I shot magazine #2 12 rounds of 124gr federal hst with no issues. I then moved on to mag #3 15 rds of 124gr federal fmj with no issues. After this I shot the rest of the 124gr hst rounds (26) (50 total) and a full box of federal 124gr fmj (38) (50 total) and then proceeded to shoot 115gr augila (50 rds) with no malfunctions after shot #2 and #7 with the hst's. Everything felt smooth trigger felt good. Accuracy seemed to be on point but I also added a holosun 507k that I am still trying to get used to so as far as accuracy I will report more on that later. The slide on these guns is tight. I mean really tight. I was hoping to loosen it up and "break it in" a bit if you will, to see if it gets easier to rack. So far besides the 2 malfunctions in the first mag I have nothing negative to say about this gun. I'm going to thoroughly clean it and go shot again tomorrow. I was hoping to have at least 500 rds through this gun by this weekend but I got stopped by the rain today unfortunately. Will post more updates soon!

Forgot to add one thing to this. One issue I am having is the slide does not lock open after the last round is shot in each magazine. Hoping she just needs to be shot a little more before I try anything else...

Sounds a bit like my "break in" for the mete sfx pro. Though part of mine was definitely ammo related problems causing. Some stovepipes. Ammo seemed to be loaded a little on the light side. When I swapped ammo the problem went away. Still shot some more of the light loaded ammo to practice remediation drills

This is true. My first TP9SF actually shipped with a 92 mag. The only difference is where the mag release cut is. It's higher on the TP9 mags. I simply dremeled the release cut in the correct location, and it works fine.

ETA: I did notify Canik, and they shipped me the correct replacement as well.

I guess I am lucky. My Mete SFX shot the first mag and every mag so far just fine.So far I have probably 250-300 rds through it of 124,147,115 from Federal,Blazer Brass ,Defender Ammo and Federal HST. I cleaned it before shooting it and left the mags loaded for a couple days.I also cycled the slide about 50-75 times.

You know it's weird I haven't seen many issues reported with the sfx line it was only the new rival s and mc9. I've heard some people say they thought it was a spring issue and then others were saying they were convinced it was the feed ramp. In any event I haven't had issues after initial first mag with my guns. Just clean them and lube them and run the heck out of them. After that you are usually fine.

Hopefully it gets better with some more rounds. I am still hoping to find an FDE locally. Found a black one in Smithfield and got to check it out. Felt good to me. Filled my hand better then my Hellcat. A lot of take up on the trigger but a clean break.

I've already seen some guys in another forum swapping the shoe for a freedom Smith shoe.. I'm thinking about trying it

I have a Mete SFT and a Mete MC9. I love both of them. After getting to the point a 1911 was more weight that I wanted to carry daily. I was looking for a Glock compactl. I shot the MC9 and the Glock and completely walked away from the Glock for a carry weapon.. I liked the MC9 so much I went back and got the SFT as a house gun.. There is no gun I have found with a better trigger and the accuracy is awesome. After firing all types and makes of round not one single FTF or jam or any other issue on them. I was taken aback watching YT videos when the MC9 first came out and seeing the instant naysayers come out and trash it. I noticed that they have one weapon they approve of and they trash any new weapon that comes out that is competition. YT is absolutely not the way to decide on a weapon purchase.

Completely agree with thisšŸ¤£šŸ¤£ the people that trash it have a clear-cut favorite everytime... I can't throw shade on the p365 and hellcat though. They both shoot well but my preference was still the mc9. There are definitely worse shooting guns our there than what glock has to offer in the micro/sub compact category and a few years ago I had been a 43x fan but still couldn't get past the trigger and plastic sights. A few hundred dollars worth of upgrades later I still wasn't completely pleased and I was in at twice as much as a canik. From everything I've read and followed canik has fixed their early mc9 issues and I didn't see where anyone who actually tried to fix it themselves or send it to canik didn't get it fixed. Most people that said they were having issues and got rid of it or returned it made no effort to get it resolved and probably didn't want it in the first place... just my humble opinion. I got an early model and had 2 failure to feeds through the first mag. Cleaned it, took it apart, shot 147 gr to "break it in" and have since shot 1200+ rds with zero issues. Very accurate... can't complain!

I joined the Canik club thanks to my wife getting me one for Christmas. TP9 Elite SC. She even got it in the color scheme I like. It has a better out of the box trigger than the Hellcat that I bought before Christmas. It is chunky for being called a subcompact. Now I just need a few more magazines.
