Cooper gonna shut it down

But back on subject. I don't believe that LEO's are there to decide if the law they are told to enforce is right or wrong. That's what judges and the courts are there to decide after the fact.
That still makes it sound like The People are subjects (whether “law” is right or wrong being for “judges” to decide) when that function ultimately needs to lie with the People.

Should the Jews in Nazi Germany have gone to court? How about the Kulaks, the Soviets being sent to Gulags, the Chinese Uighur, etc. The list goes on. At some point you need to resist and we’re dangerously close to that point in this former nation.

Day 14 of the Meck Co quarantine.
Day 14 I’ve left the neighborhood in my truck.
The streak stays alive. :D
Today started the 4th week of our local stay-at-home directive...

Which also means today was the 22nd day in a row I left my neighborhood. o_O

Why is the crowd angry?
Maybe people will just realize the situation and wait patiently.
This stuff been going for a couple weeks (two or three weeks ago for HD, not sure when it started), any violence yet?

daughter works at home depot. They put her outside to be a counter. she said it worked for a day and after that, they had lots of people refuse to stand in line. they would go in through exits and garden areas to not wait in line. I agree that people are slowly getting more frustrated with this thing as time goes on.

I said from the get go that ^^^ isn't going to work and will only be a trigger for hostility and possibly violence.

That's when manager needs to step in and kick those people out

No joke ... Food Lion is posted?
Not that I've ever noticed. My comment was really "tongue in cheek". If they are it is likely going to be one of those little decals at the bottom of the door that by definition isn't "conspicuous" and hence isn't legally binding.

Oh okay, I just read it wrong ... thought Food Lion had gone looney.

They wont even chase down shop lifters, but we expect them to start confronting people who are fed up with being herded around like cattle. How many of those will it take before the tempers flare, fists fly, and a riot breaks out? And during even a peaceful interaction, that manager is breaking their own distancing rule.

It's their job to manage the store. If they don't want the responsibility then don't take the job?

So you are good with encouraging actions that could lead to violence when a hands off approach may be safer.

He doesn't care . .Gov said recommended it so hes all for doing exactly as they say.

He said so in the other thread.

ironically, my daughter left her job at food lion to work at home depot last week... Her old coworker there said the other day some kid rode a skateboard into the store with a bb gun on his back. They called the police and had him arrested. People going crazy!

I see some folks don't get how personal responsibility plays into this. It's pretty rampant right now. You have utter, and complete control over you. You have little to no control over anyone else. If a store is too crowded, leave and come back. If you are scared of everything, just stay home. Find off hours to get out and get stuff. Order online. Or find someone that isn't worried about everything. Mind your business, be smart, take precautions, assess your risks, and live your life. Or just stay home yourself. But complaining about how others are going about their lives is a fools errand.

But...a mentality like this doesnt allow me to express my superiority over you...and how I should be treated special....PAY ATTENTION TO ME!

Best post on this topic! Well said!

OK i get it now, we don't respect private property rights when we don't like the reason. Got it.

Their store, their policy (no matter the reason whether its corporate or government). Don't like it? Leave. You're not special and get to ignore their store policy without repercussions.

I don't think you are understanding us here. How did you do on reading comprehension in school? Just wondering...

Now, apply your bottom logic to the top statement. Their store, their call right? So if they have a policy they are not enforcing, that's their call right? And if you don't like that, that's your issue and responsibility to act accordingly, right?

Left the neighborhood today...but this time on a bike. Finally found a way to get my 13yo son out of the house for a little while. (And that was as close as I could get...”bicycle” wasn’t a vehicle option in the CFA app)

First time we’ve ever ridden up there. Gonna be dangerous now that I know how easy it is. :D

I'd die of exhaustion if I had a Chick-fil-A close enough to ride a bike.

Honestly... I feel no difference. I'm still sitting in my office in the city, working like 6 days a week, and handling work calls remotely on day 7. Wife still goes to town when she needs to. she just doesn't want to go as much now.
At work, we're not short on anything - people are still coming in, we beat our march goals.
traffic was better for a bit, but I don't go downtown anyway. average trip to or from work has me spending 25 minutes on highways outside of fayetteville, then 5 minutes on bragg. Hardly saw traffic before, hardly see traffic now.

I'm not complaining. I'm just shaking my head in disbelief.

People wearing masks over their mouth but UNDER their nose. Walking around with their tshirt pulled up over their face. Eating a bag of chips with gloves on.

Some of these people are channeling "the stupid" the same way the "force" flows through a Jedi.

"May The Stupid be with you, always."
