Did You Go Shooting Today

I enjoyed using my Crossman CO2 pistol and my 760 Powermaster in my yard but now I'm city annexed so that is a no no.

Seriously? No pellet guns in the city?

MacEntyre will be posting later with pictures from today's shooting. We both failed the Wizard Cold. Then I shot it perfect the next 2 times.....don't matter! I shot it with his P35 and 1911 from my front pocket. All times under 2 seconds at each stage except the longest which was 2.21. I think he left with a new respect for pocket carry. In many years, with Many shooters, in every imaginable carry mode, Nothing is as consistently fast as pocket carry. I showed him a .59 draw and hit on target from 7 yards with a G43. Those of you not familiar with this wonderful drill please, go to YouTube and watch Ken Hackathorn do it.
NO VARIANCE, just like he did it.
MacEntyre will end up whipping this. He had the hits once today But the time was off. He left her loaded with lotsa new options.
Old Boy can shoot a 50 B&M also. Knocking Holes in big steel from 100 yards.

I woulda beat The Wizard if not for taking a half sec too long on the third shot...

Then Billy shot real well, but one missed the haid. The perfect looking picture is his second run, I think.

That 50 B&M was a treat! Not nearly the beast I expected, unless your trigger hand is too relaxed, and gets slammed by the trigger guard. [emoji41]

Went right thru this 32" saw blade at 100 yards.

I think i understand Michael's Solids and Non Conventional boolits now... both are supposed to penetrate and exit t'other side but Non Cons leave a fleur d'lis of shrapnel behind.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Only the beginning. yes, Penetration above all else......... But........... Those Blades, that shear off of the NonConventional HP's, now called "Raptors", rip and tear their way through aqueous test material, and animal tissue. Once Shear occurs at 1.5 to 2 inches inside the body cavity, those blades (they are blades, they penetrate by cutting and slicing their way through) are working close with the Center Remaining bullet, called a Blunt Trauma Solid at this point in terminal penetration. As tissue expands at the passing of the bullet, these blades rip and tear tissue, making far more devastating wound permanent wound channels. The blades are constantly moving away from center, soon becoming individual projectiles on their own. The larger caliber blades move further from center, simply because they are larger. Smaller caliber remains closer to center, they do not have the mass to move further away. Both work the same however, whether from 223, or from a .500 caliber Raptor. In most cases, larger caliber blades from Raptors will EXIT far side of smaller animals, such as deer, impala, even hartebeest. I have seen 7 projectile exits on hartebeest, about a 200-250 lb animal. Center Bullet, and 8 inches out from center, all the blades...... Exit. The Center bullet is the heavy penetrator however. It remains a full caliber, jagged edged Solid.... Being full caliber Flat Nose, it penetrates deep, and straight. Most all larger caliber Raptors Exit broadside buffalo every time. Most drive to about 3-4 foot of penetration in buffalo shot from the front................... This is the most wicked, tissue destroying bullet ever designed, and it works the same every single time........... We started shooting these bullets in 2009 on buffalo in Australia......... With incredible success I might add........

Typical test pattern in wet print.

@MadMardigan was curious about CZs, so he met me at my range this morning. I brought full size and compact examples of varying customization for him to try.
Eleven, to be exact lol. Didn't want him to feel like I was holding out on him :D
Had a good morning out there.
Nice meeting you today, Mad. Hafta do it again sometime soon.

I worked up some full power 10mm loads using my Glock 20 with Blue Dot powder and 180 gr coated bullets. I used Winchester brass and primers. The data is based on 10 rounds fired at 25 yards off a bag, chrono was 5 feet from muzzle. Only had to pay the brass god 1 piece of brass.

Went out this morning. First time in a week or so. I’m happy to announce I’m still able to shoot as well as the last time. o_O

So, my mind said the M&P 9 Pro was in the bag but reality said it was the M&P 22 D’oh

From bottom left around the horn. CZ 75 PCR, CZ 75 P01, Glock 48 and Springfield EMP 4.

Ammo was Aguila 124gr, American Eagle 147gr, Winchester White Box 124gr and 147gr and Blazer 124gr and 147gr aluminum case. All were FMJ.

The Blazer aluminum cased ammo was the least liked by all the guns. The 124gr version even induced FTE in all pistols but the 48.

All guns liked the brass cased 147gr ammo with the P01 liking it the most.

All guns liked the brass 124gr ammo, with the PCR and EMP liking the Aquila a lot.

I was hoping to find a brand/weight of ammo all the handguns liked but it looks like I will be ordering 147gr for most and 124gr for the EMP and PCR or, if the M&P and FN 509 Tactical both like the 147gr in next weekends test, they will be up for sale (to keep ammo purchases simpler).

The handgun “loser”? The Glock 48. The rear sights are drifted to the right, which I did not notice at first. It also would not lock open after the last shot but would if you rack the slide on an empty mag (probably a grip issue).

Be honest. He liked the look and feel of the blue unicorn one the best, didn’t he?

I thought they looked cute together lol

I’m all about that P01 now.

But I guess Mad has his sights on a different lady lol

Had to get @draco88 behind the staple gun (22/45 with Rugged Oculus), and then got the 700 300blk dialed in and the Bergara rough sited.

Good day, and shot with a good Guy.

The 22/45 is fun, but that supressed .308 Bergara stole the show for me

That is some consistent shootin’!

I had worked up some 10mm loads and tested them today as well. I used Sig brass and Blue Dot also, with Hornady 180 FP bullets and Winchester primers. I only did 5 shot groups, though. Witness Elite pistol, with a new 18# Wolff recoil spring and Sprinco guide rod.

Since I did not have my normal pistol rest, and I was shooting on the 25 yard rifle range (I normally do pistol at 10 yards) I just rested my hands on the bench, I was more interested in getting the velocity readings anyway. My top charge was 11.0gn, where I got 1264 fps. My best group, though, was 1.75”, second best was 2.3”. I need to work up some more and try again to seriously see what kind of accuracy I can consistently get. I need to adjust my sights as well, it was shooting a little to the right.

You really need to carry that blue one at the Charlotte show next month.

What a conversation starter at our table for CFF

Went to Peanut Shoot in Cove City, NC yesterday. My first. Not sure I will go back to that one. Lots of unsafe gun handling. No official rules other than "what I was told". No mechanical front rests. There was a guy shooting off a mechanical front rest. 5 shots at 200yds on 50yd rim fire bulls. 1 shot at peanut at 300yds. 4 or 5 benches that were not equal in position or construction. You could shoot prone. Approx. 50 shot in groups of 5. Early shooters had much less wind to deal with. No wind flags. I dropped a shot on the bulls with what had to be a an unequal powder charge to the other 4. My peanut shot was inside an inch of the peanut. 2 shooters hit the peanut. One guy was pure piss luck. The other was a good shot. He got 49 pts on the bulls and hit the peanut. That's good shooting.

I don’t answer “yes” to the topic title nearly often enough. :(

But I did out today for a bit.

Took the suppressed 9mm SBR, probably 25rds
Took the suppressed 300BLK SBR, ~40rds
Took the CZ455 in its new stock, ~50rds
Took the staple gun, ~15rds :D

Not much, but it was good.

What do you think of the Witness, I've been looking at them for a while.

What do you think of the Witness, I've been looking at them for a while.
Well, I've got 7 of them now, if that tells you anything. Poly frame, steel frame, Elite Match (10mm above), and Stock 2. Great guns. Copies of the CZ75 pattern.

Swap out the Minigun for a Mk47 40mm ALGL. Firing 40mm HEDP rounds.
