Did You Go Shooting Today

Ammo prices being at a premium...
I loaded up 15 rds into a 9mm and did a lot of draw shoot/dontshoot. 10 yards on 8" steel.
I also tested out the SKS I just got by digging a 20yr old box of ammo out of a can and doing some slow firing with that.

And I made the experience feel longer by picking up brass every few shots :)

Yes, I went and gave the Beretta a workout this morning. Nice gun. :)

Went thru 150 rounds (seemed like old times) but only bought 100, since that was all I was allowed to get in a day. Weird times.

Shot Sunday, burned through a few hundred rounds of .22 out of my 43c and PPQ. Switched to draw and reload practice with my P10c and red dot. I loaded one round per magazine and shot with a timer doing two reloads each time. I’ve been out of the groove and it was nice to be working on skills again. 50 rounds goes far using them three at a time.

Well, I was just funnin'. I bought those from a recylcer for scrap price. Something to keep me busy during my stay-at-home days.
But I would really like to hangout with CD sometime!
I thought his range would make a great place for a CFF meet and greet but the airfare would be a deal breaker.
I appreciate all the knowledge CD shares with us here on CFF and his team supporting our military.

For the first time in weeks I made it to the range to shoot more that to test fire a gun.

Started out with the 6.5 CM at 100 yards to see if it was stilled zeroed. The brought the target in 50 yards and brought out the AR-15 pistol. First without the can and it was about 1/2 inch to an inch to the left of where I was aiming. Made a 2 click adjustment (Red dot) and put the can on. Dead center. And for the hell of it, someone left a target at the 110 yard mark. Ran about 20 rounds at the target and it looked like most were hits. Target size was about 12 x 18. Wanted to head to the 500 yard range but it was full so went to the combat range to play around with a Wather P22 and can. The gun had to be held about 2 inches above a clay target at 25 yards to get hits. Ran 40 to 50 rounds without a problem.
Before we left, the 500 yard range was clear. Started at 200 yards and work my way to 500 yards with a shot every 100 yards. They rearranged some of the targets at the end. Thinking the 6" round plates were at 500 I missed the first shot low. Aimed at the top and hit it 3 times in a row, That was all the ammo for the rifle.

Over all a great day at the range. Everything worked and did not shoot a lot of wasted ammo.

Sunday at Battery Oaks, about 40 rounds with the Beretta, which is awesome.

Since the front sight is so teeny, and I really can't find it anyway, I was just looking at the front of the gun against the target today in a drill. Mixed results. Time will tell if there's improvement. The rear sight is pretty small too.

Other night finally got to the range in over a month. Was there to trouble shoot a misfeeding M4A1. Had swapped out worn gas rings but still reported failures to feed. Took several types of ammo (M855, M855A1 and Mk262), several types of mags (PMag, USGI with black, green, tan and blue followers). Lathered bolt in CLP. Owner fired about 8-10 mags in semi and auto. Didn't miss a beat. Then I fired one mag each from my shorty M4A1 and G17.

This weekend starting on Friday, I will be shooting the "Trifecta" of shotgun shooting disciplines. I'm shooting in a charity sporting clays event on Friday. On Sat, my club has it's monthly skeet shoot. Then on Sunday, I'm shooting in a registered trap event. Fun fun fun!!
Pics, please.

Took grandaughters rifle shooting yesterday for their first time. 10yr was using a Marlin 60 and 6yr old a Cricket. Both had a blast but the best reaction was from the youngest. We put some clay pigions on the bottom half of the berm at 25 yrds and when she hit her first on her reaction was priceless.

Took my son yesterday for his birthday. He had a great time and did really well. He was excited when he hit the steel plate at 100 yds with the 10/22.

@amnesia that's the Kidd barrel I got from you. VERY accurate.

IMG_20201020_184341008.jpg Did annual qualification for PD. Shot 100% ..4 shots in 8 ring . other 46 rounds in 9,10 and X ring..I've been having issues seeing the front sight . So I got a pair of 1.25 magnification reading glasses. WHAT a difference. I could see front sight and target wasn't fuzzy anymore. I felt like I did 10 to 15 years ago. This was shot from 7 to 25 yards. The 4 in the 8 ring were shot at the 25 yard line

Did my nc leo qualification yesterday. Qualified day and night , combat course day night, shot about 400 rounds.

Where I work in Healthcare full-time and pd partime, I was required to wear a surgical mask. It was hard when I had to run and shoot for combat course.

Shot my new to me Ruger LCP II for the first time. Ran only 3 mags through it but I think I'm gonna like it.
